VANITY: The "Truth" about JimRob and Free Republic according to BADJOE

Dear Free Republic Friends,

My old friend and brother-in-arms BADJOE has promised to warm the cockles of our hearts by publishing an expose (the truth about JimRob and Free Republic according to Joe) on the 18th of this month, which represents the one year anniversary of the date he last posted to FreeRepublic.com and started up with LibertyPost.org.

So, as I believe that only the truth can set you free, and based upon the stratergery of pre-emptive strike, I have a confession to make (before BADJOE makes it public):

I have poisoned the well.

By my sly innuendos behind the scenes.

By my intellectual ineptitude.

By not trusting those that brung me to the dance to bring me home.

By my biting every hand that fed me.

By my arrogance that causes me to think I did it all by myself.

By my stubborness not because of principle, but because of my lack of ability to see what is transpiring.

Evidenced by:

One would think that with half again as many Freepers. with a recovering economy, It would take a great deal less time to raise the necessary funds.

By this time in the June 2002 effort with a goal of $70,000 we had raised $73,000. Not because of who did the fundraising, but because the sense of purpose, of family, of comaraderie, was still present.

BADJOE rang the warning bell, but none heard.

Conclusion:

It is a sad day.

For what was once a great hope, a means of bringing together those who are willing to pay dearly in blood, sweat, and money to save this country, we all love, has been reduced to an asterisk.

So sayeth BADJOE as he promises to publish all this and much more on the 18th. He's been feverishly working on this "project" for one full year. In addition to the "truth about JimRob" BADJOE intends to further betray our trust placed in him by revealing the names of our moderators. And who knows what else?

I can hardly wait.

After reading your links to the Badjoe posts about the conflict, I am amazed that he had that much power behind the scenes. It's as Joe considered himself a part owner of FR! I was barely acquainted with Badjoe and he seemed an alright guy. I was amazed that he felt so empowered that he was trying to conform FR to suit his opinions. He must have been pretty valuable because Jim was obliging him by entering into agreements with Joe that affected administrative policy at the site.

I am glad that was only tolerated to a point. As an observer, I am amazed that he felt that he was in a position to dictate the rules. "Dude, know your place!!!". Now he is mad because he can't tell Jim how to run his own site, and is resorting to blackmail (by threatening to ID mods)? Is that what this is about? I hope I am wrong...

I guess this won't be over until Joe accepts that this is Jim's site. Put it to rest, Joe :)

It most certainly is different. Perhaps you should take a one month breather from FR and then come back to it. Some posters here have a huge emotional investment in FR, which isn't necessarily bad thing; but they appear to be incapable of accepting and/or evaluating objective criticism.

If Sabertooth can't give a name, then I'll speak up. I'm Dittojed2 and I've been here since 1998 (first under the name Dittojed). Many of you know me as one of the original maintainers of the Pray for Bush prayer threads. I've generally had a good reputation around here, but in the past two months I've seen 5 years worth of good posting and a good name be thrown out the window through the mudslinging on the Creation Evolution threads.

I am currently under warning from Jim Rob (And, I'm pinging you on this JimRob so you can take whatever action you want. I have one more day where I need to fill in for Faith on the prayer thread, but I'll get someone else to post if speaking up bans me.) of imminent banning. I welcome you all to look at my posts. Yes, I am agressive, but I rarely resort to name calling and I've never had a post pulled. I've posted here actively for a little over 5 years. In the mean time, posters such as balrog666 (who once called me a "lying sack of sh!t" and a "shameless hussy for Satan" for defending creationism - and merely got a warning and a pulled post from the moderator)and his evolutionist buddies (not indicting all evolutionists here. There are some polite posters over there, I am refering to one particular group of roughians) continue to post with impugnity. Read through his posts, all of them not the more temperate ones from late this evening, and see if this is not the spirit of someone who instigates trouble on this forum? This small group seems to be able to post to their heart's content and are immune from any kind of repercussions. I post to one of their members (without a personal attack) weeks after a dispute with her, and suddenly my name gets on a list of people who are "harassing" other members on the forum and are prime candidates for banning (this after two non-personal-attack posts preceded by at least a week of not posting to this individual at all). PatrickHenry once posted a long rant about how our group of creationists were some "Gang" that came into a "peaceful" town (any of you all seen the Crevo threads?) to get drunk and fondle their women folk, but that the moderators didn't really want to do anything about us because instead of having the name "Hells Angels" on our back it was "Christians". I pressed abuse on that one and the moderators did squat. VadeRetro is also in the clique and can post some of the most vitriolic postings you could imagine (particularly after you have left a thread or have been banned). I will admit, some of us had a little fun at his expense - not myself at first, but he just kept on to where he lost my sympathy. In the mean time, ALS, Goodseedhomeschool, and JesseShurun have all been banned on the creationist side (the latter twos comments that got them banned are found on the "What Is Man?" thread.) and only one evolutionist, Aric2000 (who, in spite of JimRob's assurances we still believe has returned and is posting under another name) has been banned in the 2 months since I've been involved in the Creation/Evolution threads. Is this fair? I don't think so.

All I'm asking for is fairness. I may not have anything to say any more because you may ban me. You warned me not to attack, I don't consider this an attack but a statement of the record, but you may see it differently, so if the truth is an attack then I guess I have to follow my tagline. Life on this forum is not so dear and peace through maintaining a lie and supression of the truth is not so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery. I'm not saying that our side never pushed the boundaries or even deserved some sort of reprimand from time to time. But the Creation Evolution threads are not moderated fairly and even some non-Creationists have told me that this is why they don't like to post there. All we ask for is an even playing field. Other people are going to other sites as a refuge from your site because they've been battered here and need some place where they can be respected and the management will protect that level of respect amongst ALL posters. Jim. I know you are busy. But please don't just take someone's compiled list of complaints, no matter how popular at Free Republic that someone may be, and indiscriminantly ban or warn anyone that he/she says is causing trouble. Please look at the context of the conversations and then treat us all equally. If one of us gets banned, from either side, the punishment has already been levied out. The others shouldn't be subjected to continually bringing up the banned posters name and having that person slandered without ability to respond. That is fair. And, that all I'm asking. Fair is not in my vocabulary when I see a group of people working in concert to attack others. I finally got fed up with the daily attack threads and all the abuse reports that were coming in and decided enough is enough. Several of you recieved warnings. Some decided to ignore the warnings and continue on with the attacks. Some got banned. Life is so unfair.

Uh, this was the second day he opened his show, and I would assume there were 25 million people waiting to hear him respond to the allegations, and he opened his show and stated, "I not taking about the drugs",

So I posted the thread stating, "Rush opens show not talking" and it was deleted because I didn't have a source. LOL!
