and she also ran Lucent into the ground, before leaving the current team to finish it off.

this is the worst member of the team so far that I have seen mentioned. and HP is one of the leaders in offshoring and H1B hiring.

This lady pretty much destroyed Lucent. Now she's trying real hard to drive HP into the ground. She's like Davis: the Peter Principle personified. Arnold could certainly do better.

We'll maybe the question will be posed "what can California do to make business conditions better so that outsourcing will be less attractive."

CARLY FIORINA...

I saw this in the headline and thought it was another play on the way Arnold says "California".

He should've asked T. J. Rodgers (Cypress Semiconductor CEO), instead.

Yes, let's talk about the post-merger Compaqs...This year the company I work for switched from Dell laptops to Compaqs. more than 2/3 of them have had to be sent back because of BSOD's, spontanious restarts and lock-ups. Now people are fighting for the few remaining Dell P2 laptops and do everything they can to avoid the compaqs. The Dells are old and slow, but at least they work. I'm typing this on a pre-merger Presario and have had zero problems.

Sometimes a good leader will appoint a compromised person to such a position to set a trap, or at least to isolate them, or have or gain a line on them.

Carly is Julie Packard's choice (and slowly running HP into the ground IMHO). Considering all the enviro-wack stuff Julie Packard is into, this could be a problematic appointment.
