AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - If you've got a theme, you might as well stick with it.
LeBron James' first series of Nike shoes, which have been dubbed the Air Zoom Generation, have been modeled after, get this, his famous Hummer H2.
The design and look of the shoe were inspired by James' $100,000 vehicle, which his mother bought for him for his 18th birthday last December. The shoes, which will likely be priced in the $150 range, are scheduled to hit stores on Dec. 26.
Nike prepared several mockups of the signature shoe when the company pitched itself, with about $90 million, to James in May. The Cavaliers rookie also had a hand in its final design.
The sport-utility vehicle made national news after the Ohio High School Athletic Association investigated how it was purchased last January. This is just more proof of James' sense of humor about the whole thing. He playfully drove a remote-controlled toy version around the Rhodes Arena floor before a game last winter even as the controversy raged.
James has not worn his line of shoes in a game or at a practice yet, but their debut might coincide with Nike's television commercials featuring him that are expected to start during the regular season.
No word on whether the shoes will have multiple television screens like the real thing.

Just damn.If you want on the new list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
[As i mentioned, the B/C & JD! lists are going to float into and out of whack over the forseeable future, while I try to cobble a rig back together for myself. My apologies for any incovenience or misunderstandings in this time frame. New signups/removals may be flaky in this time-frame as well; please bear with me, and keep in mind you may have to FReepmail me more than once for me to get it done. Thanks again!]

Who cares? Only inner-city kids who should be focused on more important things, like, you are 5'5" and will never make money being a basketball player, so what kind of job are you preparing for?

Hours of work for the Chinese worker to afford a pair of these shoes: 1000 hours
Price of the Hummer given to James: $100,000
Watching kids beg their parents for a pair of these Shoes: Priceless

Oh man I am going to run out tomorrow and buy me some Lebron shoes.
Only $150??? Wow that is a steal! They probably only cost 28 cents to make.
I really hope nobody flushes their money down the toilet with this garbage.

I prefer a pair of hiking boots for $35. They last 2x longer, and I don't get sprained or twisted ankles anymore like when wearing sneakers.

I went to eeeevil Walmart and got a pair of hiking boots for $10... I'll never buy Timberlands. I'd only spend $100 on sneakers because I run and your feet are important.

Maybe you should post a picture of the shoe with a picture of the hummer. I can't see any likeness at all.

I don't see the "hummer" resemblance either...although I'd bet Arnold could kick one through Arianna's pie hole!

There's a really bad joke around here about how LeBron must be a redneck. I can't precisely spell it out without getting the post pulled, but let's just say the controversial vehicle was purchased by his mother. >:)
