We most definitely need the Tom supporters to do the right thing, vote yes on the recall, and yes on Schwarzenegger. Wishful thinking ain't gonna make it happen.

(How ironic is it that Arnold turned out to be the spoiler?)

I remember Anita Hill and Clarence Thomas.
I saw two lawyers raise their hands and swear to tell the truth under oath, and one of them lied. Maybe they both lied.
I just know that since then in my court and hearing appearances, I have declined to raise my hand and swear. I affirm I will tell the truth and cite my religion.

If Tom bails, they'll either vote against the recall or not vote at all...
No, McClintock will be on the ballot anyway, and we all want Davis gone.

Tomorrow is about McClintock's real LAST CHANCE to get out and salvage his career. If he stays in and the Dems retain control of CA, because of his obstinence, he can never live that down in CA.
Look, it is too late for Tom to get out of the race. It isn't too late to help Arnold reach over the 50 percent mark. The targets are Davis and Bustamante.

you wrote: "How can it be a smear campaign when Arnold admitted the story was true today? "
Umm. . . apparently you didn't listen to Arnold.
He did NOT admit it was true.
Fact is, he said it was mostly false.
He apologized for any possible offense, not for these allegations.

Thanks for the calibration. It seems like the Arnold haters are the same ones who are the Bush haters, and the same ones who want to sink the Republican Party, by giving the power to the Democrats.
Wanting Republicans to enforce immigration laws = giving power to Democrats?

Arnie gets elected... He will make Bill Clinton look like the most ethical governor in history. Thanks for doing the dirty work of the Dem party. Much appreciated. No matter who you want to win- Arnold or Tom, this opportunistic approach is disgusting. You should be blasting the Dems/Libs, instead of parroting THEIR charges.
To: Sabertooth
We won't know until Tuesday, but I don't see the smears energizing Democrats much, or depressing GOP turnout. Davis will be recalled. From where I sit, it appears the slime campaigns are blowing back on Davis in a big way. The Rats and their media whores, it seems, have once again overplayed their hand with the all-out barrage against Arnold and Rush, coming so quickly after the latest assault on the White House. So instead of rallying their simpleton supporters, they have instead energized the right inot getting out and throwing this rotten excuse of a human being (Davis) out of office.

C'mon FairOpinion - there was allegations against him back in 2001 when he first considered running for Governor. He had to drop out because of all the heat. You guys got behind a guy with a history so don't get indignant when it gets reported. And don't lay the blame on Tom - he has every right to stay in. Half of the conservative base wants to vote for him - browbeating them isn't going to work, calling them names isn't going to work, guilt trips aren't going to work.
To: FairOpinion
And don't get Bush involved in this.

This is a very sad commentary about the McClintock voters. Are you on automatic pilot or what?? Lay off the McClintock voters already. I stuck up for your guy on a number of threads today.
These comments of yours serve no purpose but to inflame at this point. Pathetic...and a sad commentary on YOU.

"We should all just try to get along" ...my way.
To: ambrose
I think the G.O.P. better start saying we don't care who you vote for - they are both great candidates - just get out there and vote.

You make too much sense.

Actually, virtually everyone cut Arnold a lot of slack today. The 11th Commandmant was alive and well.

The purpose of a smear campaign is to depress turnout for the opposition, not to enhance your own. That doesn't work for Davis in this scenario, because any disaffected Schwarzenegger voters have a refuge in McClintock, so they turn out and vote for the recall anyway.

By their obstinance they elect Democrats. Do you think the Democrats are better at enforcing the immigration laws, somebody like Bustamante? That's whom you are voting for, when punching the ballot for Bustamante.
