McClintock has been converted into a national hero by the backroom boys.

Deal with it! ;-)

All the polls now show the undecided down below 5%. and I was being generous with the minor candidates. The Greenie/Socialist might get 5%; I'd be surprised if any of the other topped 1%. Most will be at 0.000N%!

Off subject a little bit here, but I'm am seeing more "Guener" ads in the LA market than Davis and Bustamante put together. He's the millionaire Democrat who started "Ask Jeeves" on the net. So I got online and I asked Jeeves who was going to win, and he said Tom McClintock!

I think McClintock provides the winning margin for the recall. I bet a lot of his supporters can't look away at these recent revelations. They will vote for the recall, but only if they have Tom to support.

I doubt the "recent revelations" have much to do with it; most of us had already heard these sorts of stories, and made up our minds as to whether they were important.

But I think at this point you are right on the central issue: That 15-18% that McClintock keeps pulling in all the polls represents people who are pretty firmly committed. If the race between Schwarzenegger and Bustamante looked like it was going to be close, some of them would probably defect, but as things stand, I doubt if very many will. And you are absolutely right that the McClintock supporters are needed to ensure that the recall is successful. By the latest numbers, if a significant fraction of McC's people decided to stay home, the recall's outcome would be very, very close.

Like I said, Duff Sundheim and his buddies. Not the Party assembled in convention.

Spin it any way you want, but that's the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Great. So the recall will be successful and we get Bustamante, because of the McCLntock voters.

Brilliant strategy. (/sarcasm)

We most definitely need the Tom supporters to do the right thing, vote yes on the recall, and yes on Schwarzenegger.

Yes, Maria. Yes, Maria. Yes, Maria...

As for the GOP County Chairmen, were there any vertebrates in the room? Must have been a few, because the vote wasn't unanimous.

But if you go by the Field Poll numbers and not my guesses you have 36 + 26 + 15 = 77. That's a lot more unaccounted for votes than my predictions.

Brilliant strategy. (/sarcasm)

Almost as brilliant as continuously insulting McClintock supporters in thousands of posts to a california conservative grassroots online forum over the last several weeks.

(/sarcasm)

I can't wait till Arnold takes this state at about 55%. Sadly, it will be interpreted as a 'celebrity' winning rather than someone who has connected with the vast majority of voters who have become 'dissenfranchised' with politicians in Sacramento. Screw the punch-card, people are pissed off at government, period, and politicians everywhere for that matter.

The heavy handedness of the state seems without boundry. Six months ago, a red-light violation (verified by a state owned-taxpayer funded camera) would cost $270. Today, it's $351. at the same intersection. What's it going to be tomorrow?

Who's going to go to Sacramento and fight for the little guy? Will it be Tom? Will it be Arnold? I've got a feeling that the libs in control of legislating in California need a wake-up call. Hell, they need a slap against the head.

I'm going with the guy outside of government who stands a chance of stirring things up rather than an insider who understands all the 'give-and-take' necessary 'to get things done'. Bull Sh*t! Our state houses stink and we need a clean-up on aisle (Capitol Mall) immediately.

The thought that 'principled' conservatives would wallflower themselves when there's serious work to be done in dissecting a huge socialist malignancy at our capitol is disheartening.

In other polls, where Arnold gets 40, Bustamante 32, McC 15, there are only 13% "other/undecided" votes, which makes more sense.

Bingo. After 20 years most people start thinking about retirement, not their first promotion. If McClintock hasn't made it by now he is never going to make it. He has had his chance and has absolutely NOTHING to show for it but 20 years of government pay-stubs.

McClintock's not going to have anything if he stays in, whether Arnold wins or loses, McClintock is finished because he has ended up looking like a short sighted, pinched face girl who has his panties in a bunch.

That's not a very attractive image for a grown man, but it's one that McClintock himself has cultivated.

And he has no one to blame except for himself and all those Democrat frauds who duped him into thinking he had a chance. And when the days over, he'll be done too.

Ok then, McClintock can stay in the race then.

But he has to be a man then and accept the consequences that he made a mistake.

Because you might be right, perhaps he did wait too long to drop out, and you also might be right that there isn't enough time now for his supporters to come to their senses.

But by the same token then, McClintock has got to be a man and admit he made a mistake, because now his career is finished, regardless.

And he's gotta be a man now and take the consequences. It's not like he wasn't warned. I don't feel sorry for him, not one bit!

As the 'trend setter' state, I only hope that we'll be sending something good your way as a result of this recall. Anything less and I'm certain you guys will know what to do- brace yourselves.

CT-Your ethical comment is really hard to fathom. Give me a history of shady dealings and shady friends of Arnold and I'll reconsider. Otherwise, take a breather. Seriously...
