[history]
Rather than starting last night's concert at Shea Stadium in Queens with an upbeat Beatles tune, Bruce Springsteen instead unleashed a recording of President Bush, with a tape loop repeating the words "mass destruction, war and peace."
Then, Springsteen and the E Street Band kept up the somber tone, with Springsteen singing, "This is a prayer for the souls of the departed."

Sucks to be you. I'm grooving with the Grateful Dead right now, even though undoubtedly at least some if its (living) members support causes and political points of view with which I strongly disagree. I admit when an artist becomes very outspoken and conspicuous, it is bothersome. I like Johnny Depp's work, and so I found the recent statements from him annoying. But if I start boycotting everyone for being an idiot, I will indeed need to become completely insulated. Much better to accept that some people--including myself--are sometimes mistaken. Least, that's my opinion. Uh-oh, now you can't read posts from Huck either!

I used to be a fan as well but I think it's inappropriate to use a music concert as a venue to call for the impeachment of the President.

His political stupidity aside, I don't understand how anyone can stand to listen to this self-absorbed nonentity for more than 3 minutes. Man, he's boring. I'd rather listen to Barney tunes anytime.

No, you would probably have to restrict your viewing to better programming.
COnservatives should realize that everytime they attend a movie or concert, buy a DVD or videotape or CD which stars one these overpaid, talent-challenged leftist media Frankensteins, they are contributiong moeny to their own demise.
I like pirate movies and was looking forward to Pirates of the Carribbean. When I heard about that idiot Deppe, I decided to spend my money elsewhere. I didn't miss a thing, or feel "isolated."
Years ago, when Chrissie Whitman ran for Governeor first time (and most people thought she was a Republican with a functioning brain) Barry Manilow stood her up, pulling out of a fund raiser at the last minute. That ended any record listening of his music by this individual.
We can live without these freaks - it s big interesting world out there with a lot of better things to do than patronize vipers like Springstein.
