In my opinion, this entire ESPN episode and Rush's departure from it is being blown way out of proportion. It's only a flippin' football show that is watched by about 2% of the total TV audience. It means nothing. Rush's presense on that dumb-ass football yapping show does absolutely nothing for the conservative cause. For Rush, it was probably a pleasant diversion, like some of us rake leaves on Saturday mornings in the fall. But nothing more than that. It's not worth getting all bent out of shape over.

Of far greater concern is the rumors swirling around Rush about the prescription drugs. This is something that could genuinely ruin the man if the allegations end up having some truth to them (which at this point, I have absolutely no opinion either way). This is what admirers of Rush should be worried about. Not some nonsensical football talking head show that hardly anybody (including many football fans) even watches.

Oh I definately agree with you that a football show is not all encompassing. I was merely sharing a viewpoint. The drug allegation (if true) is indeed a large concern. However, when the allegations of clintoons drug habits & known association with Dan Lassiter, etc, surfaced naturally it was not news. I think Rush will do & be just fine however this plays out. He has things to say & there are a lot of folks that want to listen. Why would his drug problem (if true) stop him? After all, how many athletes have had drug/alcohol problems and continued on in their career? I wouldn't expect a double standard to apply here! The left has been "gunning" for Rush for quite awhile, & have seized on this to try to destroy him. When a "lefty" gets caught it is an affliction, a medical problem, a disease, something requiring "treatment," It will indeed get interesting to say the least!
