Wasn't this Daddy Bush's problem? His failure or reluctance to step into the campaign fray? If I remember correctly, George Bush's re-election push was lackluster at best.

If the election were to be held next month instead of 13 months from now, I as a lifelong Republican would not for GWB. There is no democrat I would consider voting for either. I would not mark that part of the ballot.

You are exactly correct. Daddy Bush was counting on his Gulf War status to bring him thru the election and it didn't work. The economy was doing very poorly then and it seemed like he didn't care. Once you give the democreeps that kind of opening they jump in like the bacteria they are and seep into the wound and infest it. Bush is doing that right now. HE HAS TO STOP THEM but I am afraid his advisors are telling him (like they told his father) to wait until the primaries are over. In the meantime the Democreeps are starting to hypnotise the American people. Bush cannot wait until the primaries he has to begin his campaigning right now!

Again, when Daddy Bush lost, you lost, we lost, the country lost — big time. Don't let it happen again.

You remember 1992 correctly! He let Clinton define him with his lies and spin and didn't answer back until it was too late. They had the goods on Clinton and didn't use them.

I would expect that when the RAT nominee becomes clearer, you will see a different Pres Bush and he will be more forceful -- hard to get into the fray with so many RAT candidates -- want to keep your powder dry. If it is Hillary, I guarantee you that the George W Bush you see will give her the same no quarter he gave Ma Richards -- she will be history.

What is bothering me is the Republicans that are on these cable news shows -- I want our hard hitting types like Jeff Sessions, Don Nickles, Jim Inhofe, etc., not the fluff we are getting. Our Senators and Reps should be out there defending the President not being wishy washy and silent!

Yes, it was. In many respects, GHWB lost the election more than Clinton won it.

However, recall how active GWB was in the mid-term elections. He showed great resolve and strength the way he stepped into the Senatorial races -- proving himself more than a match for the First Felon when it came to campaigning skills.

My impression is that the father never really enjoyed or appreciated the need for campaigning. The son, however, seems to recognize that there is a time to govern, and a time to campaign.

No, Bush 41's problem was that he didn't understand the way Clinton worked until it was too late

I have no doubt that Bush 43 has paid a lot of attention to the way the Clinton goon squad works.
