NOVAK: 'NOBODY IN THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION CALLED ME TO LEAK THIS'
Drudge Report ^ | 09/29/03

Edited on 09/29/2003 2:01:54 PM PDT by Jim Robinson. [history]

In July I was interviewing a senior administration official on Ambassador Wilson's report when he told the trip was inspired by his wife, a CIA employee working on weapons of mass destruction. Another senior official told me the same thing. As a professional journalist with 46 years experience in Washington I do not reveal confidential sources. When I called the CIA in July to confirm Mrs. Wilson's involvement in the mission for her husband -- he is a former Clitnon administration official -- they asked me not to use her name, but never indicated it would endanger her or anybody else. According to a confidential source at the CIA, Mrs. Wilson was an analyst, not a spy, not a covert operator, and not in charge of an undercover operatives...

Someone needs to ask Wilson: "Did you mention to Mr. Novak your wife works for the CIA?"

Thanks for the info.

I have read about the "Gitmo" spies. Maybe thats Clarks purpose to sound so military and all knowing, problem is he just can't do it.

Now the market stuff and campaign business for me - tracking the method of operation of the clintons and "money" not theirs but others, this guy that has been locked up in Brazil that was returned says he has proof of illegal activity on Hillary and how some financials on Wall Street helped pave her way.

Now if there is any truth in what he claims this would be far more damaging cause it goes to the core of exposing outright illegal acts on Hillary and Bill's part.

I don't think the Clintons give a hoot about who they are connected with, more concerned with anything that exposes them for illegal activity.

Novak cannot reveal his actual source, but if it wasnt the Bush administration, but still an administration official, then who else but a Clinton administration person could it be? I think they tried to set Bush up with a scandal, but they expected Novak to say nothing at all.

If it was an ADMINISTRATION official, but NOT a Bush Administration official, then just what administration was Novak talking about?

Good Catch!!!

I think the polls are showing Bush bouncing back and the Dems are trying to knock him back down. Nothing more, nothing less. But the story died a quick death. Too bad for them.

Nothing fuzzy about this:

"According to a confidential source at the CIA, Mrs. Wilson was an analyst, not a spy, not a covert operator, and not in charge of an undercover operatives... "

Actually this lying left wing POS was not opposed originally to taking care of $oddomite. Below is a great link/thread which shows Wilson, earlier this year was ready to take care of $oddomite.

URGENT: Joseph Wilson to Bill Moyers in Feb. interview — war with Iraq not just about WMD!
NOW with Bill Moyers ^ | 7/14/03 | Interview transcript

Posted on 07/14/2003 5:58 PM PDT by Wolfstar

In Depth — Transcript, February 28, 2003, Bill Moyers talks with Joseph C. Wilson, IV

[BEGIN EXERPT]

MOYERS: You are calling for coercive inspections.

WILSON: That's right. Muscular disarmament, coercive inspections, coercive containment, whatever you want to call it. I don't think containment's the right word because we're really talking about disarmament.

MOYERS: Does it seem to you that the President, George Bush, is prepared to accept a disarmed Hussein? Or does he want a dead Hussein?

WILSON: I think he wants a dead Hussein. I don't think there's any doubt about it.

MOYERS: President Bush's recent speech to the American Enterprise Institute, he said, let me quote it to you. "The danger posed by Saddam Hussein and his weapons cannot be ignored or wished away." You agree with that?

WILSON: I agree with that. Sure. I...
MOYERS: "The danger must be confronted." You agree with that? "We would hope that the Iraqi regime will meet the demands of the United Nations and disarm fully and peacefully. If it does not, we are prepared to disarm Iraq by force. Either way, this danger will be removed. The safety of the American people depends on ending this direct and growing threat." You agree with that?

WILSON: I agree with that. Sure. The President goes on to say in that speech as he did in the State of the Union Address is we will liberate Iraq from a brutal dictator. All of which is true.

[ED. NOTE: This is the only time in the lengthy Moyers interview where Wilson mentions the State of the Union Address. At NO time did he mention any concerns about the sentence regarding British intelligence and Niger. The grousing about that sentence actually began shortly after the SOTUA and went nowhere. Now comes this sudden, new-found "concern" by a man with long ties to the Democrat Party.]

[SNIP]

MOYERS: You think war is inevitable?

WILSON: I think war is inevitable. Essentially, the speech that the President gave at the American Enterprise Institute was so much on the overthrow of the regime and the liberation of the Iraqi people that I suspect that Saddam understands that this is not about disarmament.

WILSON: But I think disarmament is only one of the objectives. And the President has touched repeatedly and more openly on the other objectives in recent speeches including this idea of liberating Iraq and liberating its people from a brutal dictator. And I agree that Saddam Hussein is a brutal dictator.

And I agree along with everybody else that the Iraqi people could — would well be far better off without Saddam Hussein. The problem really is a war which has us invading, conquering and then subsequently occupying Iraq may not achieve that liberation that we're talking about.

MOYERS: So this is not just about weapons of mass destruction.

WILSON: Oh, no, I think it's far more about re-growing the political map of the Middle East.

[SNIP]

MOYERS: Talk to me a moment about the notion of preemptive action and regime change. Preemptive action means an attack.

WILSON: That's right. That's right. We have historically reserved as part of our right of legitimate self-defense the authority to go in and take out an enemy before that enemy has an opportunity to take us out.

So what did $inator Hildebea$t's FBI files on Wilson have to say? They must have been strong enough to make him change his tune.

Did he just mean a Dem in the Bush Whitehouse? Or..did he know before Bush took office when he was an Ambassador.

What Novak said was that nobody in the Bush administration called him to leak this. Somebody in the Bush administration could have leaked this to Novak in an interview, and Novak's statement could still be true, if that official had not called Novak.

When I read this I was confused. Do you really think he's saying that? Why wouldn't he just say a former adminstration offical? Some here contend Novak says Wilson himself told him about his wife.

The Dims are well aware that just the mere mention of some of these catch-phrases that they and the press have been using such as, "criminal investigation," "White House leak," "Carl Rove in handcuffs," "WH scandal," discredit Wilson's report on yellowcake", "independent counsel to investigate," yadda, yadda, yadda, are good enough to create more than enough doubt about the Bush administration. They know that most people only listen to so much, the end result is irrelevant, the damage is done out of the gate.

Wilson then confessed, "I don't have any knowledge that Karl Rove himself was either the leaker or the authorizer of the leak."

Something a Rotten Clinton is entirely incapable of accomplishing, telling the truth. I'll bet Hillary wants to kick this guys ___ about right now.
