++++++++++++++++++ GET OUT THE VOTE ++++++++++++++++++

WE NEED YOUR HELP ON ELECTION DAY!

Elections are won and lost by only a few votes per precinct and we need to boost our Voter Turnout.

The campaign has identified 116,000 registered voters in Santa Clara County that we need to encourage to get to the polls on Election Day in order for us to deliver this area to Arnold and guarantee a success for California!

We are asking that every able bodied person in Santa Clara County to help the Arnold Campaign locally on Election Day by acting as Poll Watchers and Phone Bankers for a full court press on our Get Out The Vote effort!

If you can spare part of the day or all of the day on Tuesday October 7th contact us immediately and let us know what you can do and we will have work for you to be done.

What You Can Do: Contact us by responding to GOTVolunteer@joinarnold-sv.org with your name, telephone number where we can reach you best, the time that you will be available to work on Election Day, and the city that you reside in.

We will want to get together to have a brief and informative training session between now and Election Day on what you can expect as a poll watcher so we can guide you through the process.

Together We Will Bring California Back!

From the Murky News... (which recommends a 'No on Recall' vote)

Schwarzenegger slights Democrat-heavy Bay Area

Mercury News

For the Terminator, it's been Hasta la vista, Bay Area.

Since announcing he would be a candidate in the recall election more than seven weeks ago, Republican actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has made just one public appearance in the nine-county region, where 20 percent of Californians live.

Of course, most of these particular Californians are Democrats who want to keep Gray Davis as governor. The most recent Field Poll showed Bay Area support for retaining Davis at 63 percent, compared to 40 percent statewide. Schwarzenegger was drawing support from 13 percent of voters in the Bay Area, compared to 25 percent statewide.

So it's been no voter-registration drives. No mingling with shoppers. And no chance for ordinary Bay Area folk to have Arnold throw a T-shirt at them, one of the staples of his campaign appearances. Just a single education summit at the San Jose Marriott.

``You take your resources first to where your base is,'' said Schwarzenegger campaign spokesman Rob Stutzman. ``It's no secret the Bay Area is not the Republican base of California.''

Schwarzenegger hasn't completely ignored the region, having slipped into Healdsburg, Danville, San Francisco and Atherton to pick up campaign donations at private receptions. And he sent his Democratic wife, Maria Shriver, to Mountain View and San Francisco earlier this week for public events. But other than that, the candidate has been invisible.

Stutzman promises that Schwarzenegger will be back in the campaign's final week, with an East Bay stop now slated to be part of a statewide bus tour next Saturday. An additional appearance is possible.

``There are a lot of valuable votes to be harvested for Schwarzenegger,'' he said. ``That's why we do have a presence there.''

Campaign spending reports released Thursday show that Schwarzenegger had kept his television advertising in the Bay Area to a minimum.

For the period from Aug. 24 to Sept. 20, Schwarzenegger bought just $460,000 worth of television time on Bay Area broadcast stations, or about 16 percent of the total he spent from a campaign fund promoting his candidacy. During that same time, none of the more than $500,000 he spent on ads from a separate committee attacking Davis went to Bay Area stations. (Stutzman said that has since changed, and anti-Davis ads have begun to air in the region.)

By contrast, Davis spent $1.3 million in the Bay Area during the same time, or 28 percent of his total. Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante, the main Democrat running on the replacement ballot, reported spending over $1.4 million, or 22 percent of his total from two committees.

``Every candidate has to make a decision to hunt where their ducks are, and for Republican candidates, those ducks are not typically in the Bay Area,'' said GOP consultant Ray McNally, who is not affiliated with the campaign.

While there are Republican pockets in Contra Costa County and in the South Bay, the cost of buying television time can be prohibitive when most of the viewership a campaign would be paying for is represented by hard-core Democrats who wouldn't consider voting for a Republican.

The campaign believes it ``can persuade a lot more voters a lot more cost-effectively in the Central Valley or the Inland Empire or San Diego or Orange County,'' McNally said. ``It doesn't matter how big your wallet is, you just have to make the tough decisions.''

TO ALL

An FYI regarding the corner of Stevens Creek and Winchester in San Jose...

There are usually 2-5 useful idiots with IMPEACH BUSH and BUSH LIED ABOUT WMD type signs out there every Saturday.

Every other week there are a group of pro-America patriots to counter the appeaseniks (though they don't plan to be out there this week at this time)
