"We have an obligation to follow science, not mythology," Riley said. "They're using sick people to advance their own agendas." This said by a Drug Warrior that relies on the WOD for his salary.
Any person with half a working brain can see that the Drug Warriors are becoming nervous, hence all the anti-marijuana ads on TV lately. Pathetic.

Maybe Maryland has only so many JBTs, and they are kept busy full-time rounding up gun owners. In any case, good news.

Tom Riley, public affairs director at the Office of National Drug Control Policy, said that the federal government spends millions of dollars every year studying drugs, and has found no scientific evidence to support health benefits of "smoked marijuana."How did he miss this from the federally chartered Institute of Medicine?
"there are patients with debilitating symptoms for whom smoked marijuana might provide relief. [...] Until a nonsmoked rapid-onset cannabinoid drug delivery system becomes available, we acknowledge that there is no clear alternative for people suffering from chronic conditions that might be relieved by smoking marijuana, such as pain or AIDS wasting."

"Maryland's recent ... law ... that have made the state one of the leaders."The Drug Policy Alliance ... praised 12 states all of which passed at least three reform measures since 1996."
I would call Maryland a sheep-like follower, not a leader. Plus, they can't even use the excuse that they didn't know that smoked marijuana is not good medicine.
"Medical marijuana has come a long way politically,"
Well, he got that part right.

John 10:7
Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

I've met and talked to Ehrlich a few time at fund raisers and conferences.
He's a Republican, glad he got elected but he's still a frickin clueless idiot that is quick to dish out feel good politico answers. (It's one thing to know your neighborhood soccer mom doesn't know what's going on, it's a rude awakening when you discover your representative (at the time) doesn't know either!)
I worked for his campaign but it was only because he had Steele on his ticket. Worked with Michael in Prince Georges and I think Steele is a great guy. He seems to be involved because of the cause, not the glory. I don't feel that way about Ehrlich.

Oh my....I am sure NOT HAPPY to hear you say that! I was hoping to see some improvement. But, I guess it looks like I am going to have to step up my search for a home outside of Maryland (and away from Metro area).

"Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep." Wasn't it, "Verily, verily, verily, verily, life is but a dream"?
Or am I confusing that with something else?

Oh, yeah, big progress here. /sarcasm
Well, I guess it's good news for the pot heads.
