I believe the reason hillary! pushed Clark into the fray is to take away some of Dean's momentum.

She doesn't want any of the Dim candidates in a strong position.

(and BTW, I think slick is simply following orders at this point).

All of this nonsense about her website and the speculation as to whether she'll run or not is generated by her and her minions. Trial balloons, and they keep her name in the news.

I think her plan is to wait and see what position Bush is in as the election nears.

If she thinks he is vulnerable, she will go for it, but she must be assured that no other Dim will be in place to fight her for the nomination. (Just like the NY run, only Dean may not be so willing to step aside).

If Dean is still a strong front-runner after the Clark buzz dies down, and hillary! has decided to run, expect to see some damaging items about Dean (from anonymous sources, of course) make the news.

Clark is the stalking horse to do the grunt work for Hillery, who may or may not jump based on the magic +/- 50% approval If it's close, she's got to go. Can't have Dean or Kerry potentially win, and become Party lead.

This would more or less be my guess too (and it is at best that -- a guess), but for one thing... money. They've got a lot of candidates out there soaking up a lot of contributions, and it's not an unlimited well. OTOH, if the other candidates were, um, persuaded to turn over contributions to HRH HRC...?)

I agree with kattracks. I think this is a stalking horse.<p.i must say, I did NOT like seeing all of those Clinton thugs getting together again. UGH. I don't think any of them should be allowed in public life.

Hillary Clinton's not going to run. Why speculate on it?

Because the facts seem to fit the hypothesis. I am testing my hypothesis by soliciting peer review comments.

Please submit your thoughts and contradicting evidence.

Can we quote you on that in, say, six months?

Dean will untimately get the nomination, because of his grass roots support amoung the liberal elites. He excites them.

Hillary will not run in 2004. The Clinton's strategy is to send Dean out to slaughter and therafter nullify him.

The seachange here is the recent Dean like comments from Ole Wet Ted. The Kenndedy faction wants McCauliff out and Dean in. Thus the Clinton final push to put Clark in.

The Clintons now will do everything possiible to sabotage Dean (Hoperfully), so that he won't have the prestige to assert control over the DNC. The Clintons will be sacrificing the House and Senate, which they can't get anyway, for Hilary in 2008.

The Clintons have been in control of the Democrat party since 1992

Democrat party? Excuse me, but we now referto it for what it is. A cult. The Democrat cult.

Can't resist jumping in. I have just read "Hillary's Scheme" and am currently reading "Hell To Pay" by Barbara Olsen. There is no question in my mind that Hillary! will run in 2004. It fits the pattern of her past.

Back in 1980 when Slick lost the governorship, she plotted ferociously, even as she was soon to be evicted from the governor's mansion, on how to get back in in 1982 - and she did. What's happening today is almost an exact parallel. She and Slick were evicted in 2000 (due to term limits, to be sure, but still evicted nonetheless) and she has spent every moment since January 2001 plotting her return. Slick can't be president again, so now it's Her! turn -- only, she needed a power base to work from in order to return as Queen of the USA, so she became a Senator in order to facilitate her return to the White House.

As someone else said, 4 years is an eternity in politics. If she waits until 2008, she loses all the bloom off the rose. She has to be re-elected as Senator in 2006 at minimum in order to have a chance at it, and that's not a sure thing by any means. Too risky.

Consider her basic personality. This horrid woman is driven mainly by one thing - a perpetual lust for power and control over others. There's a groundwork of psychological reasons for this, but that's not even important at this point; what's key is, she will do ANYTHING to get back in power, and she's not willing to wait. Don't forget, being the true leftist/Marxist/elitist she is, she really does think that she is fit to rule over everyone else, and that it is her rightful destiny, almost a birthright. She can't shake this perception. She views this period between 2000 and 2004 as a temporary aside that she must endure, but she will not endure it any longer than she has to.

I agree, Clark is just a sock puppet that the Klintons have put up to serve their purpose of killing Dean's chances. A stalking horse. Hillary! may play well to her adoring feminist crowd, but Americans would largely reject her - her superior demeanor, obvious phoniness, political tin ear and shrill outbursts are just too much for most people to stomach, and even she knows this. Therefore she can't afford to run a lengthy campaign; she needs a short distance, starting mid-2004 at the Democratic Convention where she will be "drafted", so she can sprint to the finish line in Nov 2004. She can manage 5-6 months with the loyal media helping her out.

There is no question in my mind - she's running!

There's only thing that would scare me more than Cruz Bustamante being elected governor of California, and that would be Hillery in the White House. Then California would become part of Mexico, and what's left of the U.S.A. would become a haven for gays and other undesirable elements of society to run amuck.
