The so-called "food pyramid" was designed by LAWYERS and
not nutritional and mineral metabolism scientists.
Now I wonder why?

The typical school lunch menu today reads like a burger joints .99 cent menu! It is dispicable. Gone are things like Soup and Sandwich, salsbury steak, meatloaf, turkey with gravy, and other healthy meals... Todays menus are pretty much, Cheesburger, nachos, chicken nuggets, french fries etc 5 days a week! And I'm talking GRADE SCHOOL, not high school folks....
When my wife and I have brought this up, we get "if we serve that they choose the alternate food, which is always a cheesburger"... which I am thinking why is the alternate a cheeseburger?
Should be get the meal, or you get a PB&J.... that's it... no other choices... these are children, captive audience and you are training them to not think or eat healthy from the time they enter kindergarden or first grade, and its inexcusable.

Most of the nutrition and diet associations are part of the problem too. They support all the non-fat products that are packed with carbs. Fat doesn't make you fat, too many carbs makes you fat.
