[history]
Edwards came home Tuesday to make the announcement. He did it in Robbins, in Moore County, where he grew up and went to school. His parents still live there.
Edwards' formal announcement was much like a grand opening for a business that has been open for nine months. He has been campaigning since the start of the year.

I think I have had a revelation about our Breck Girl, Sen. John Edwards.
His game plan/career path is:
Trial Lawyer,
Senator,
Presidential Contender,
soon to be
Law Professor
And then the next time there is a Democrat in the Whitehouse,
Supreme Court Justice.
A trial lawyer on the Supreme Court. Be very afraid.

Please notify the USSS office. Mr. Edwards has made a specific threat against our President.

Yeah, he's so strong in North Carolina he decided not to run for re-election.
He knows he can't win-the state's got him pegged for what he is; a male, ambulance chasing version of Hillary Clinton. Just passing thru, posing as your Senator, Thank You, on my way to higher office.
Right now he's between: a) unable to retain his seat, and b) Polling 2%-4% behind the 9 clowns.
Nontheless, the Raleigh N&O dedicated front page for 5-6 days to this bozo, trying to keep clown alive. Shameless. Five days of DNC propaganda - front page, big headlines. Passed off as news.

"He was always such a fine young man," said one of his old teachers. A state trooper who once stopped Edwards for speeding and let him go also showed up for the announcement.
Gotta love it!

I will beat George Bush in North Carolina," he said. At least that would be more that Algore could do (carry his home state). Of couse, Dukakis, Mondale and McGovern carried their homes states. The Dems better aim a little higher if they really want to win.
My studied opinion, however, is that by mid-summer '04 it'll be Al Gore just like before.

The N and O have always been the mouthpiece of the Democratic party. Some of the NC Freepers won't subscribe to it because of this. I subscribe because I can't always depend on local TV news.
Too bad that we don't have an alternative newspaper.

The N&O is the democrat party news letter and they admit to it. I emailed the author telling him my friend and neighbor is a surgeon, who could have the author's lips removed from Edward's a** when he is done with the series. I also noted if he would just HTML the series, by G_d, we have an edwardsforprez.com website!
Here is the justification for devoting a weeks worth of front page paper to a unre-electable senator that polls below the nine clowns at 2-4%: (From the sycophant author:)
"FYI. I am not a Democrat. I have never voted for Edwards. He does not like me and has complained to the editors about my coverage on several occassions. If you set out to write political biography of a public person you have to write the facts as you find them. You can't make things up. Obviously, when you are dealing with the life of a successful person, there are going to be a lot of positive things - whether he is a Democrat or a Republican. I don't expect to persuade someone like who obviously wants to demonize anybody who's politics you disagree with. And I'm sorry if I confused you with a few facts."

"This campaign, my campaign, is build on new ideas and old values," Edwards said. "Work, responsibility, a fair shake for all and a free ride for nobody." Wasn't it just last week at the panderfest that Edwards said something like, "Free college for everyone"?

"I will beat George Bush in North Carolina," he said. He just barely beat Lauch Faircloth in North Carolina. And he thinks he'll beat Bush? Forget about it.

"I will beat George Bush in North Carolina," he said.
Pretty friggin stoopid for him to say...what with the fact the George W. will likely be passing out zillions of bucks in aid to Isabel's blast victims by the weekend.
Maybe it's just a timing thing....

Look at it this way, for the last six years North Carolina ambulance drivers have been able to safely stop short and not worry about Johnny boy rear-ending them!
