that FL supreme court could have issued ruling after ruling stopping certification of results they did not like, or stopping the legislature. sure, what you describe looks good on paper as the law is written. but since when do these liberal courts care about that? florida would have been a nightmare if the SCOTUS had not acted.

The nightmare would have moved to Washington by 12/16/01.

The Florida Supreme Court cannot and could not enjoin the Legislature from appointing a slate of electors.

It is long past time to have a fight over judicial bodies making political decisions. The Constitution provides a clear, explicit pathway to fill the office of President under circumstances such as this.

It was foolish not to use it.
