Early morning GOES IR imagery of Isabel

Inspite of all the forecast models, Isabel could make landfall anywhere along the SE seaboard. It is now approximately 600NM east of South Florida with a heading of 290 degrees.

Actually, it's going to miss completely, just grazing Cape Hatteras. Look at the rapidly moving weak frontal system coming across Georgia. The key that is telling me that this system is much more widespread than it looks is the slowing of Isabel's motion - look for even more slowing in the report coming out in about an hour, then a sharp turn to the North tomorrow afternoon :)
