Or maybe if they had the level of discressionary income that most Americans do they'd be able to afford it. Of course I agree that their culture is a big factor, but so is their dismal per capita income level.

You're putting the cart in front of the horse. In order to generate income (assuming that a Communist country would permit a liberalization toward some capitalism), you need to create value. If nobody is willing to create value because their comrades turn around and steal it, then there's simply no incentive.

Kudos to rdb3 for calling out CodeMonkey. It's liberal bs like his that has Linux in the crosshairs.

Um, I don't know exactly what you are saying here, but I'm both a committed patriot of the USA and a Linux expert.

And there's nothing absolutely liberal about me other than I "liberally" add to my bank account(s).

Reverse "nothing absolutely" to "absolutely nothing."

Agreed, I was talking about CodeMonkey's liberal bs, sorry if it wasn't clear. Yes, you have just successfully made a point to me, that although you support Linux you probably do not have a liberal leaning like so many that do. Hopefully we can begin to discuss these issues more on those terms.

Or if you're really interested in finding out more, read this thread and the multiple comments like this:

"Let the capitalist pigs die the slow death while they use MicroSloth's products. Maybe what we need here is a revolution similar to China."
