Actually, I freaked out my first fiancee that way, back in my college days: she knew I was ROTC and such, but never saw me in full Dress Blues until we'd been going out for several weeks. . .
Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Salgak was a VERY different person from the Salgak she knew, and she literally freaked out. . .

Make sure you're wearing your dress uniform the first time she sees you. LOL! The one thing I miss about the military is the Net-knight in mess dress ... but now he has a great Cub Scout leader uniform, and we're saving up for 4th Degree Knights of Columbus frou-frou.
