President Bush, joined by First Lady Laura, and Vice President and Mrs. Cheney, observed a moment of silence on the White House lawn this morning to honor the victims of the September 11th, 2001 tragedies. The First Couple began the day with a memorial service at St. John's Episcopal Church, and later in the afternoon visited wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Army hospital. QUOTE OF THE DAY: Today our nation remembers -- we remember a sad and terrible day, September the 11th, 2001. We remember lives lost. We remember the heroic deeds. We remember the compassion and the decency of our fellow citizens on that terrible day.

Also today is a day of prayer. We pray for the husbands and wives and moms and dads and sons and daughters and loved ones of those who still grieve and hurt. We pray for strength and wisdom. We thank God for the many blessings of this nation, and we ask His blessings on those who especially hurt today.

Thanks for the pictures. Today has been a sad day. Our local talk radio station has played the newsbreaks from 911.

I saw several flags at half staff here in Jackson, MS today. One of our large hospitals flew a giant flag for the longest time right after 9/11 and they flew it again this morning. I was teary on the interstate as I drove but it was a silent reminder to all who saw it of our lose, of the heroes of 9/11 and the war on terror. May we remember to pray for the heroes who defend our freedom today and fight the terror that would take it away. May God bless our President and those who lead and may He comfort those who have suffered lose.

I can't believe I'm in the top 30 today. I'm freeping at work and remembering our heros of 9/11. God bless this President and his staff. I pray for President Bush, Vice President Cheney and those surrounding them, Lord give them strength, courage and wisdom to make the correct decisions. Amen.
