"...there's a steady diet of rejection, abuse and neglect..."

Which one would get this label - *Bill or Hillary?

Fred Grandy used to be my Congressman. The premise that he came from 'stage right' is as ridiculous as the assertion that Schwarzenegger is coming from that direction.

The article is BS.

Tom is what I would call a very mainstream conservative--not a conservative champion by any means, but one who can definitely be counted on to vote the conservative caucus line in the House.

Fred was a 50 percenter. I don't have his voting record right in front of me, but he gloried in being thought of as a 'maverick' more than anything else.

Any way we can get him to run against Leach?:)

Now, that would be an improvement!

Wrong side of the state, though. ;-)

Just the comparison is a major insult to Reagan (and Thompson, too). Reagan was a hell of a lot more than an empty suit when he started his political career.

Actually, this article leaves out a lot of Democrat/Liberal celebrities who ran for office, but lost. The biggest difference between Republican and Democrat celebrity candidates is that Republicans tend to win, while Democrats tend to lose. Remember Miss Jane Hathaway? Papa Walton? Grandpa Munster (Green Party)? The Deputy from Dukes of Hazard (Who did actually win once, if I recall correctly)?
