Pierce County Council Race help needed!

Any FReeeprs who are voting for County Council Position #6 - PLEASE support Dick Muri.
He is a strong conservative. Pro-second amendment, pro-life, anti-tax increase Republican.

He is also ex-military who has won the first national award for a military unit for quality control excellence.
IOW he can make a budget work and is experienced in the BRAC (Base realignment and Closure) issues.

He is running against Paul Bocchi who was hand-picked by a party elite and coincidentally appeared when this good paying opened up. He is new to the party.

Paul is a liberal who once remarked that he didn't know if he was a democrat or a republican. Chosen by a certain Pierce County "leader" ( who worked with him at a bank) everything possible has been done to push him down our throats.

Shirley Winsley (Democrat who later put an "R" after her name) has now endorsed him.

During the Pierce County district elections, we PCOs overwhlemingly chose Dick Muri. Dick is an former district leader and has personally registered more than 1000 R voters.

But Paul Bocchi's name was angled on the ballot by shenanigans. Then the dem and rino council picked him (our LAST choice) over our first choice, Muri, to "fill in" until the primary.

Here is Paul Bocchi's current County Council voting record:

1. Repealing the gun rights of Roy citizens. This was Bocchi's own proposal. Law-abiding Roy citizens can no longer fire their arms on their own land. (Roy is rural and has large tracts of land.) Bocchi refused to even meet with the NRA reps.

2. Bocchi and democrat co-chair Barb (?)Gellman initiated a tax hike proposal which will appear on the ballot next week. Since then Paul has taken a little heat, so a couple weeks ago voted AGAINST his OWN PROPOSAL and has since been in the local papers claiming he is "against tax increases." It also appears on his campaign literature. He has stated that now is not the "right" time. I suspect the right time for the tax increase would be immediately after his election. He also backed R51.

Two campaign pieces ago, Bocchi was asking dems and independents to vote for him, citing his support for "family wage jobs." (Where have you THAT one before?)

Two days ago, another expensive piece was mailed out calling himself a Reagan Republican.

Unbelievably, Jennifer Dunn has jumped in as well, on some bad advice from Chris Vance and his henchmen. The party ethics of staying neutral have flown out the window. When I called DC, I was told Dunn was comfortable with her decision.

Let me get this straight: she is comfortable with
a. Going against the majority of Republican PCOs in an entire Washington county
b. Voting against a former district leader for a person with no party history
c. Not knowing her party base, just the elite

Well I am now pretty comfortable with remembering her actions in the furture, but that's another subject...

PLEASE - if you are in this area send out email to those you know. Heaven only knows why the GOP would act in such a way, but here we go again. The rino's are trying hard to take control of this election and we want it back! Muri will do a great job and also shake up the County Council. We have some active conservative people also running for city council positions. They people are working together and if elected, we can begin some real changes here.

Your immediate FReeper activism would be appreciated!

BTTT I thank you Eala. Every day brings another outrage. You would think that this race was against a democrat rarther than 2 Rs. Infact, they PREFER a rat... While Bocchi has been in office, he used tax payer funds to send out TWO pieces of literature under the guise of "constituent" information. He used his campaign colors and fonts. Photographs from the photographoc session on the water were later used in his later paid-for campaign pieces (for continuity.) He is not only a liberal - he is unprincipled! (Sorry for the redundancy there.) I am livid that the party is doing this, but we know that some of them are not on our side.

BTTT Thanks 11B3, if you are in the voting district for this position, it is the way to go. I know how you feel about your firearms. People JUST LIKE YOU were deprived of them in a single vote, at the whim of 7 liberals. :(

September 16th. I am looking forward to it being over. If we win, I am going to start taking serious political aim at those who betrayed the "conservative" party.
