September 8, 2003 -- One of the worst places for on-the-job spying against employees is The New York Times, says a report. Wired magazine compiled the best and worst workplaces for privacy among employees and singled out The Times - often regarded as a champion of civil liberties - as having too many prying eyes looking over workers' shoulders.

Ha! Work for the Gubbmint anyway. I reckon we give up all rights as human beings the day we sign up on any chain gang. Nothing is sacred. ;-)

"progressive policies"

Notice how the word "progressive" is associated with everything good, in this case, a very conservative ideal (right to a life without interference)?

Control freaks (socialists) can't help it.

It's a disease of the brain.

One of the worst places for on-the-job spying against employees is The New York Times...

The NYT's employee spy unit was so "efficient" they failed to discover Jayson Blair writing stories in a NY City Starbucks datelined West Virginia.

But then Jayson got a pass from all the NYT good ol' boys.

Then again, it sure instills a lot of confidence in the NYT's ability to get the job done, eh?

Lunatic Left Wing Wackos spying on their employees!

Isn't that just typical of the liberal mindset.

This is interesting. My first job after college was with IBM. I quit later that year about Thanksgiving due to their spying and prowling re employees. They must have had a reward a snitch system. If you said something that even questioned their superiority, it got back and you were in front of the Branch manager.

Good they must have turned around. Back then they were the poster boy of Big Brother as a corporation.

I worked at a company a few years back whose offices were one enormous room with no partitions, a few conference rooms with glass walls/doors, and had the entire place under video surveillance 24/7. Needless to say, I didn't last long! Everybody in the entire place got paranoid after 2 months of working there, very heavy turnover.
