I have a feeling this speech will not go over well with many freepers. I do not like the 'put the disagreements behind' posturing crap.

"Bush does not plan to announce the discovery of any nuclear, chemical or biological weapons in Iraq, his staff said."

Will he even mention the status of WMD? We are owed at least that!

why do they release the text of these speeches in advance, don't they know the media will just edit and cut it up and trash it before he actually delivers it?

If (notice I say if)he says this can you say one term.

There is no reason to go to the reast of the world.

He have the resources and the man power to do any job we put our minds to, of course, maybe we no longer have the will and we should all submit to Allah.

What's very worrisome is that having miscalculated on what's required for the reconstruction of Iraq and having failed to discover WMDs, which is bad enough, the administration then compounds the error by going begging to the french as a solution. Does anyone really think that the french would say that all is forgiven and they're ready to play ball now? This is crazy. It's clear that the President is being badly advised.

They're now spending close to $400 billion for defense. If this Iraqi campaign is stretching our forces to the breaking point, then where is all that money going? We still have 110,000 troops in Germany. Bring them in if more force is required in Iraq. Don't go begging to the french. The President has no right to have our country humiliated like this.

Of course, we don't know what's in the speech, do we? He may announce that they found those 38,000 liters of anthrax for all I know. What I do know is that there is a perception that things are going wrong. If that perception is false then the administration has done a terrible PR job, and if it's right then we need better solutions than asking the french to save our bacon.

I'm really steamed. Ted Kennedy is running our domestic agenda and we need the french to save us in Iraq. At this rate they'll be swearing in Hillary Clinton before you can say "hail to the chief".

"Bush has resisted giving the United Nations greater control in Iraq, and his aides described no significant concessions in the speech. The senior official said Bush will say that "long-term success will require increased international cooperation, among other ingredients."

What are you people crying about???

This article says that Bush is not giving any major concessions to the EuroVermin.

To: PISANO I would love it if he told the REST of the WORLD that with their HELP OR NOT........we will rebuild IRAQ and succeed where the WEAK of heart and purpose fear to tread. Postive descriptions of the PROGRESS in IRAQ and a meaningful tribute to our TROOPS, who without their guts and blood, FREEDOM would not have any chance at all. Please let it be tough, uplifting and a slap in the face to all who fear our strength and our FREEDOM loving constitution.

We offered our good allies an olive branch to help them show they are with us in the fight to defeat terrorism. It seems as though France and Germany are leading a group of nations that are not willing to accept this offer to join us. They are against us and against the fight against terror.

Therefore we are planning to withdraw our support for many of these Countries by removing our troops from much of Europe and we are also stopping the aid we provide to some of them.

If they are not with us they are against us.

If you're an enemy of the U.S., looks like the Mogadishu strategy is a winner.
