You are right, well said.
Talking to some friends the other day about the state the nation is in and one said something like, "well, I think it will hold together long enough for me." In other words, she didn't seem to care that it might disintergrate after she died... just that it held together long enough to see her thru. It's the ME, ME, ME attitude. Our ancestors sacrificed, sometimes all they had, in order to leave us a legacy of freedom, but are we willing to sacrifice anything to pass on that freedom to our grandkids? I asked her that very question, and she shrugged and said, "that's not my problem".............. sad, very sad indeed!
"In the old days, miners brought canaries down into the tunnels to detect methane. The birds were more sensitive to the deadly gas and worked as an early warning system. When they died, it was time to get out. For conservatives, Sen. Edward Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat, is like a canary. When he starts supporting their initiatives, they should get out.... Therefore, it is significant when Mr. Kennedy supports a Republican initiative, as he has done in the case of the prescription drug bill working its way through Congress."
Whenever I see the word "czar" in connection to a gov't program, I see "failure."
