Famous last words
Robert Kennedy as council to the McClellan committee was giving Sam Giancana a hard time in questioning. Giancana answered each question by reading the fifth amendment with a smirk and from time to time a slight laugh. Frustrated, Kennedy asked the mob boss, "Are you going to tell us anything or just giggle? I thought only little girls giggled?"
Keep in mind, mob bosses got feelings, too.

What's left of the Mafia are a bunch of senile old men and dumb young men who couldn't run a tricycle, let alone a criminal enterprise. --- Clemenza in Brooklyn

Was the Gotti family one of the best things to ever happened to Feds who fight organized crime?
To: nickcarraway
Paul Castellano was a smart man who kept a low profile like his mentor Carlo Gambino. Gotti was a dimestore greaseball thug who watched way too many mob movies. Although I think La Cosa Nostra would have faded away anyway, Gotti pretty much handed the Gambino's to the feds.
