Former Ohio US Rep. Jim Trafficant (Democrat-JAIL) Plans to Announce 2004 Presidental Bid in January
National Journal and the Hotine Political News Service (subscription required) ^ | Septembver 3, 2003 | Chuck Todd

South Carolina Senate Candidate Marcus Belk, the head of Former Ohio US Rperesentative Jim Trafficant's 2004 White House Exploration Committee, spoke with us while on the campaign trail in Manhattan.

Q.Describe how Trafficant is doing, what his normal day is like, or anything like that.

He's in very good spirits. His letters always reflect classic Trafficant.

The words are written in large letters and there are lots of exclamation points and you know its Jim Trafficant writing the direction of the campaign.

As soon as the California Gubernatorial Primary is over and soon after Wesley Clark announces and the official 10 are settled we will quickly begin to re-renter ourvselves as the eleventh candidate for nomination.

And at that point, you know, looking forward to him for an official announcement somewhere around the first of the year.

You gotta like this...I don't think Trafficant has any desire to win. I think his purpose is exposure....of the fallacies, crimes and whatever else of the clowns that will represent the "Blue Dress Ten" supposing Clark gets in and all. And then we'll have the "Blue Dress 11" if Hillary gets in. Currently we have the "Blue Dress 9".

Maybe we can do some fundraising by selling the "traficant" wigs. I'd buy one and wear one.

If I was a cross over voter in South Carolina or New York it might make sense to vote for Reverend Al, but otherwise it is 'Beam Me Up Trafficant' all the way!

Let me get this straight:

If you are convicted of a felony, you cannot vote. But you can run for a public office? What a wonderful country!

Jim Traficant: The only politician in Washington who dared to speak of Chinagate, Waco and Lesbo Janet Reno.

Do not underestimate Trafficant -- guys who wear bad hairpieces will come out in droves to support his candidacy and could be a significant new voting bloc (like soccer moms).

Well, that certainly makes my choice a lot easier! If only he is smart enough to pick former Jersey Senator Torricelli as his running mate. A slogan: "You know what kind of people democrats are!"
