Its a funny parody of the famous "Prologue" Of Geoffrey Chaucer's medieval masterpiece, The Canterbury Tales. Middle English is lost to us but the pronunciation was much like continental French today than modern English. I think Chaucer would have approved; human nature being what it is, its good to know despite the passage of the centuries, some things never do change.
