My son lives in Corpus Christi, and I'm not too concerned, they just should have a lot of rain. Now if the storm upgrades my so does my concern. Main thing is to stay out of the water...rip currents can be dangerous.

Living near Waco we haven't seen rain since June so we're hoping for a storm!

Here is a link that might help...

Thanks all for the info. It was mostly reassuring. They will be fine if this is only a lot of rain. I tried to call her cell phone, but it's off (grrr). She's with trusted friends of mine and their children. My biggest concern is that she'll splash around in the water a little too far out -- she's clueless and only what I'd call an adequate swimmer.

Deport, you're right. This has all the makings of a great all night party for them. She's with three other girls and a "parent unit" so I doubt it will get especially wild. Her tough luck.

AnotherDubya -- I'm near Waco too and I think we might get some rain. I'm so confident I put a curse on our chances by buying fertilizer this afternoon, and I'm going to spread it in a while.
