Thanks all for the info. It was mostly reassuring. They will be fine if this is only a lot of rain. I tried to call her cell phone, but it's off (grrr). She's with trusted friends of mine and their children. My biggest concern is that she'll splash around in the water a little too far out -- she's clueless and only what I'd call an adequate swimmer.
Deport, you're right. This has all the makings of a great all night party for them. She's with three other girls and a "parent unit" so I doubt it will get especially wild. Her tough luck.
AnotherDubya -- I'm near Waco too and I think we might get some rain. I'm so confident I put a curse on our chances by buying fertilizer this afternoon, and I'm going to spread it in a while.

If you Texans can spare one;we could use a good hurricane in Nevada. It is so dry people are attaching stamps to their letters with staples, not wanting to wast water to lick a stamp..

LOL, I don't think this is going to go as far west as Nevada. I hear the people in Florida have one they'd be glad to send you.
