TALLINN, Estonia (Reuters) -- Residents of Vandra in rural Estonia got a blast from the past as they received voting cards for an upcoming EU referendum in Soviet-era envelopes complete with hammer and sickle, the post office said Thursday.
National post office Eesti Post apologized for any upset caused by local officials using envelopes from a huge stockpile left from before the Baltic country regained independence in 1991, which also carried the acronym CCCP and other Soviet symbols.
"It's not our practice to use envelopes from Soviet times," Eesti Post spokeswoman Inge Rumessen said. "We banned them long ago."

LOL! I think somebody's trying to tell them something. With the EU they'll just be trading Moscow for Brussels.

Worse...Moscow do much to build new industry and business there (and in all border provinces while Russia, Ukraine, Bellaruss, northern Kasikstan suffer to upgrade lives of parameter minorities...so they stay quiet). Brussel only use fools as colony, squashing any future competition and sucking monies out and what few resources.

The EU is the CCCP of the 21st century, and Russia is rapidly becoming what America once was... The irony is not lost on me, good sir. :)

Hey, the envelopes were there, they were unused...you want to let them go to waste? Why make new ones when you have perfectly good old envelopes just lying around doing nothing?
This is what I call being frugal with the taxpayers' money.
