Madonna's Immoral Behavior At MTV Awards (Action Alert)
PeopleNews ^

Did Britney and Christina expect quite such a slobbering expression of gratitude from Madonna at last night's MTV Video Music Awards?
...the 45-year-old Queen of Pop foisted lingering, open-mouthed kisses on the pretenders to her throne. Britters and Aggers were together to perform an ironic Like A Virgin, the song with which Madonna kicked off the MTV awards way back in 1984.
The pair were decked out in the same kind of white wedding dress worn by Madonna for that seminal performance, writhing around on stage like good 'uns. Then Her Madge appeared, dressed in black, and greeted her tribute-payers with a bit of Material Girl on girl action, tongues and all.
... 'Will Madonna stop at nothing in the name of shameless self-publicity?' asked one cynic.

Seems MSNBC may be contradicting your position...Reports indicate that Madonna has fallen INTO the gap. ROTFLOL.. yeah.. the MSNBC in its entirety ... no wait... just Rob Walker of Ad Report Card.
In his critique, Rob refers to madonna's ad as a dud, calling it a failure and states that he likes the Swiffer ad featuring DEVO. And so here we are, talking about how offensive DEVO's Swiffer ad is... except we are not talking about them... we are talking about madonna and her gap. : )
Talk about contradicting positions.

it would appear to me that someone in the ad world would be a bit more informed than you or I...
I guess we shall see how the GAP does, huh?
Curious though, it appears you are rooting for Madonna. Care to explain why?
To: maverickman
lets see .. because she's an all-around intriging artist..with plenty to say and says it oh so well.. encompassing all sides of her personality and talent.. singing, dancing, thought provoking, sexy.. I actually can go on and on.....but I won't bore you......any further..(unless provoked) hehehe..

Rob is an ad critic, no more adept at watching TV and formulating an opinion as you or I. You are claiming that public response to the ad is negative and you and Rob would seem to agree the ad has flopped. Based on comments made by Gap personnel and through idle observation, I think the ad will most likely prove a success. However, I respect your opinion and can understand your outrage. And I do agree with you that it is a bit to early to tell. Or as you state, "I guess we shall see how the GAP does, huh?"
Please note, just because I think it will be a success does not mean I am rooting for madonna or Gap. I haven't had a horse in the race since Carrie Donovan passed away.

The entire show was disgusting. What is really disturbing is how many kids are seeing this stuff because their parents either do not know what is being shown on MTV or don't care.
How about Snoop Dog's "pimp" performance? It's unbelievable how the audience fawned over him like he was royalty. Yea, many say that's show biz. but again what about young people and the possible influences of such programming.

While I agree that young or "old" they are nasty skanks, what makes a woman an "old hag" at the age of 45?! No, I'm not that old yet, but I will be in a decade! Now, if you mean old in the sense that she is too old too be cavorting around like that, then I completely agree with you.

Carry a tune?! She sounds like she is singing through eggs caught in her throat! Yeah, they are all gross, but X-Tina blew them all away as she is the only one who can actually sing; unfortunately it's pathetic pop drivel. And, yes, Little Brit is gonna have a rough go of it in about 5 years, keeping slim. She got sum T'under T'ighs!

BY THE WAY: Madonna's daughter was onstage for this performance. She was one of the girls in the 'wedding ceremony' who came out at the beginning of the performance.

Well they wrote back.
Dear AJ,
Thank you for your e-mail. Although we certainly appreciate your feedback in this matter, Gap had no involvement with the MTV Video Music Awards or the performance of Madonna (and Missy Elliot if appropriate) on that program. However, your viewpoint is appreciated, and has been shared with the appropriate area of our business.
If we may be of further assistance, please contact us again via e-mail at custserv@gap.com.
Sincerely,
Matt
Customer Service Consultant
I just love the line Gap had no involvement with the MTV Video Music Awards or the performance of Madonna (and Missy Elliot if appropriate), backtracking on their involvement. Spin to English translation: "We really don't want to associate ourselves with any inane publicity stunts Madonna pulls, we just want her to hock some jeans. Oh, and if Missy Elliot has been bad too, we want to disassociate ourselves with her too...

While the press go wild for Madonna's threesome with Britney and Christina, none of them have seemed to notice that Madonna's daughter Lourdes was also performing on stage. Lourdes and a friend (Ingrid Casares daughter) were the two flower girls at the wedding ceremony and they came complete with BOY TOY buckles!

Eminem gets in on the act! She locked lips with Britney. She locked lips with Christina. And the controversial pop diva Madonna was still on a kissing roll - finishing her night at the MTV Video Music Awards by planting one on rapper Eminem.

MONEY! They have to keep upping the shock level in order to draw viewers. The broadcast networks will die otherwise (which I hope they do - die that is). There is literally no show or series I watch on the networks other than sports events.

'Will Madonna stop at nothing in the name of shameless self-publicity?' asked one cynic. Will stupid bastards stop buying her crap records? Will complete and utter idiots, these double term Clinton voters, stop watching Empty-V? Remember, abominations like that snatch face gap tooth jackass Whoredonna, and that pimp nation Empty-v (a corporation which has utterly destroyed the quality of music since it began in 1981..Consider the music that came before it) only exist because of the scum mutts who support them by opening their wallets at the drop of a hat at this crap. Brittany Spears, Christina Argh-ulera? Buy their CDs? Why? What`s on it, music? Are you kidding me? I think my 6 year old niece can write better songs on her tinker toy piano and her ears closed. And these are supposedly pro musicians? HA! Like Frank Sinatra says, two dollar whores...Jump on stage in a strip bar so I can throw a buck in your face because that`s all your good for honey, then shut up and get me a beer while your at it. You act like a whore you get treated like one. And these people who work for them, the bodyguards, the personal assistants..my god, how the hell can they look themselves in the mirror after bowing to s**t like that I`ll never know. Talk about selling your honor! I don`t know what`s worse, women who sell their honor on a street corner or the ones who do it for these music corporations. It`s pretty damn pathetic..Now I hear they got Jewel doing it as well. How nice...A folk singer from Alaska folds and sells her honor to the corporate pimps of Empty-V. Sort of like that punk Snoop dog getting 16 year old girls high so he can film them topless and line his pockets...How impressive.
