Write for W This Friday -- Fight Back Against Democrat/Media Attacks & Lies
Freepers

Posted on 08/27/2003 7:12:41 AM PDT by Marcus Alonzo Hanna

Tired of the lies in the liberal media? Then do something about it! Every Friday -- starting this Friday -- a growing group of Freepers is getting together to write letters to the editor to support Bush against the constant barrage of media and Democrat lies. We'll start out by calling it Write for W Fridays, but we're open to suggestions on what to call it.

Writing letters to the editor to all the papers in your area is easy through the President's re-election website.

Last Friday, a number of Bush-hating websites mounted a coordinated attack to send as many vile, hateful, anti-Bush letters through the Bush site as possible. They're promising to do the same this Friday. Freepers need to fight back and start gearing up for 2004 -- BIG TIME. It's not enough to bump this thread -- write a letter, and tell your friends and your entire email lists to do the same!

What to write about? Here are some ideas for letters, but the purpose of this thread is to add your own suggestions about topics and supporting material for this week.

BUSH STANDS TALL

The Spending Boom

Dubya Trouble?

And remember: Friday, Friday, Friday!

Welcome to FR. I feel convicted that I haven't done more of this lately. And I hate reading letters sections of papers anymore. They are filled with vitriol and spitting hatred from folks who never got over the 2000 election.

If mentioning the war on terror, be sure to mention we can fight it here on our shores with unarmed, unsuspecting civilians or we can fight it in Iraq with well trained, well armed soldiers.

This is a great idea! You deserve a medal for suggesting this "Friday Freep for Bush/Cheney." (And, may I say, after doing battle with some of the Know-Nothings here on FR, the "RINO-bashers," the Ivory Tower types who are completely useless in the real world political wars, it's refreshing to find a good number of people willing to fight in a way which is constructive, practical, and effective.)

President's Remarks
video image view

This country has many challenges. We will not deny, we will not ignore, we will not pass along our problems to other Congresses, to other presidents, and other generations. (Applause.) We will confront them with focus and clarity and courage...

Sending Americans into battle is the most profound decision a President can make. The technologies of war have changed; the risks and suffering of war have not. For the brave Americans who bear the risk, no victory is free from sorrow. This nation fights reluctantly, because we know the cost and we dread the days of mourning that always come.

We seek peace. We strive for peace. And sometimes peace must be defended. A future lived at the mercy of terrible threats is no peace at all. If war is forced upon us, we will fight in a just cause and by just means -- sparing, in every way we can, the innocent. And if war is forced upon us, we will fight with the full force and might of the United States military -- and we will prevail. (Applause.)

State of the Union Address by President George W. Bush

Personally, I disagree with Bush maybe 33% of the time.

I disagree with LIEbermench about 50% of the time.

I disagree with the rest of the people in consideration about 90% of the time.

Bush is not perfect, but his idiocy quotient is far lower than that of his opposition in the "Democratic" Party.

This is probably a very good idea, but I'd much rather see the guy stand up for himself for a change. He moans about the fact that Big Media is talking down the economic recovery. Well, Mr. President, get behind the bully pulpit and talk the economy up! He lets the media and the Democrats call him a liar every night over Iraq, and not only does he refuse to defend himself, he actually allows his surrogates to "admit" to the "crime" of inserting an as-yet-unproven assertion about pre-war Iraqi interest in securing African uranium in a State of the Union speech. A "new tone" only works if your political opponents are willing to engage. Now we're at the point where the morale and welfare of our soldiers in the field is at stake (given the complicity of the left-wing press and the DNC in supporting the Saddam Hussein talking points), and (coincidentally) this President will soon be in a reelection battle. New tone be damned! If Mr. Bush thinks Big (liberal) Media will cut him a break, if he thinks that average citizens will spring to his defense (when he's so obviously reluctant to defend himself), and if he believes that everything will be okay cause he prays every morning, all I can say is (to borrow a line from Ted Sorensen via JFK): in this world God's work must truly be our own.
