Boy sentenced on rape charges

A 12-year-old boy suspected of raping a 46-year-old woman on a hiking trail near Richmond in April was convicted on two counts of sexual assault this week.
The boy, whose name has not been released because of his age, was sentenced Monday by Contra Costa Superior Court Judge Lois Haight to serve a term in the California Youth Authority, according to deputy district attorney Steve Moawad.
