"I was fully aware of what would happen," Michael Jason Tiner, a Navy combat instructor, told a reporter.

Question: What heterosexual male would pretend to be gay in order to seduce a man for publicity on a television show? (Other than Bill Clinton).

The Village People - In The Navy

Where can you find pleasure, search the world for treasure, learn science, technology?
Where can you begin to make your dreams all come true on the land or on the sea?
Where can you learn to fly, play in sports or skindive, study oceanography?
Sign up for the big band or sit in the grand stand when your team and others meet.

In the Navy, yes, you can sail the seven seas.
In the Navy, yes, you can put your mind at ease.
In the Navy, come on now people, make a stand.
In the Navy, can't you see we need a hand.
In the Navy, come on, protect the motherland.
In the Navy, come on and join your fellow, man.
In the Navy, come on, people, and make a stand. In the Navy, in the Navy.

They want you! They want you! They want you as a new recruit!+

If you like adventure don't you wait to enter the recruiting office fast.
Don't you hesitate, there is no need to wait;
they're signing up new seamen fast.
Maybe you are too young to join up today
but don't you worry 'bout the thing
for I'm sure there will be always the good Navy
protecting the land and sea.

In the Navy...

They want you! They want you! They want you as a new recruit!
They want you! They want you! They want you as a new recruit!
..But..but..but I'm afraid of water!
..hey..hey..look, men...
I get seasick even watching it on the TV!
They want You! - Oh my goodness!
They want you! - What am I gonna do in a submarine?
They want you! They want you!
In the Navy.

In the Navy... (fade out)

I cannot imagine. And I bet the gay sailor was devastated that he didn't win. Here he was rejected, even though he thinks he heard that his potential "date" liked seamen.

ROTFLMAO.

The gay sailor definitely has some self-esteem issues. From the article's contents, it looks like he was given the shaft (or denied it) in favor of heterosexual guys masquerading as queers.

Yup. And there was an episode where he came under suspicion of being gay (turned out his brother was).

"Don't you hesitate, there is no need to wait; they're signing up new seamen fast. "

I think, as pertaining to this article, that one word here was mispelled (an extra "a")....

This will wind up in the courts, and considering the state of legal affairs in this country, he will win. All he really has to say is that it is his religion to pound other men in the butt.

My Dad and brother were sailors (bro 20 years), so I hope the Navy folks out there will forgive me for bringing this up, but since my daughter and son-in-law are Regular Army, I get to hear Navy jokes from time-to-time (and Marine and Air Force jokes). When she was in Basic Training, she told me how, with ranks like Seaman and Rear Admiral, it was not surprising that people of a certain persuasion would be attracted to the Navy.

I saw the episode with this guy chatting about himself, and wondered when the ax was gonna fall. He's even a submariner, and talked about his first assignment (or as he put it: "I remember the first time I went down")

Captain: "You there, the young seaman with the girly looking body, lean over the rail and check the wheels on this ship."
Seaman: "Captain there are no wheels on this ship."
Captain: "Don't argue with me boy, lean over that rail and check the wheels!"
Seaman reluctantly leaning over rail: "Captain, I don't see any wheeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllssssssss."
As a former Navy man I always thought all those old jokes and jibes probably were holdovers from the day when men on sailing vessels were at sea for months or years at a time, those guys probably got a little desperate.

In the Michael Peterson murder case on CourtTV (Michael is accused of murdering his wife), a witness is a member of the military (I saw only part of it and don't recall which branch -- seemed it was Army) as well as a male prostitute. Michael tried to "date" him.
