Schwarzenegger Hires Catholic Foe
Catholic League Press Release ^
| August 14, 2003
| William Donohue
Posted on 08/14/2003 6:34:09 PM PDT by ElkGroveDan
Arnold Schwarzenegger, Republican candidate for Governor of California, has hired Warren Buffett as his financial advisor. Catholic League president William Donohue expressed his concerns about this appointment today:
Warren Buffett is one of the most lavish donors to the nations most anti-Catholic organization, Catholics for a Free Choice (CFFC). Led by Frances Kissling, CFFC has twice been denounced as a fraud by the U.S. Catholic bishops. For many years, Kissling has worked tirelessly to downgrade the Vaticans status at the U.N. Her non-stop attempts to discredit the teachings of Catholicism are known all over the world. Indeed, Kissling has expressly said it is her goal to overthrow the Catholic Church.
For anyone to bestow funds on an organization that hijacks the name Catholic only to subvert Catholicism is an outrage. It is worse when non-Catholic billionaires stick their nose into the internal affairs of the Catholic Church. By writing checks totaling millions of dollars to fund CFFC (in 2001-2002 alone, the Buffett Foundation awarded CFFC nearly a half-million dollars), Warren Buffett has shown himself to be the enemy of the Catholic Church.
We will monitor Buffetts every move. If Schwarzenegger is smart, hell tell his friend to keep to number crunching and stay out of the cultural arena.

Well that fits. The rest of the Kennedys have nothing but contempt for the Catholic faith. Why should the Schwarzekennedys be any different?
Just more evidence of what we already know about Liberal Arnold.

Warren Buffett's a shrewd businessman and investor. I part company with him over his politics.

So are you saying because Arnold consulted Warren, Arnold is anti-catholic? I see it as Arnold know Warren made money on undervalued stocks, and if Warren can do that, maybe he has some ideas for undervalued California, too.

Buffett is a value investor. His company Berkshire Hathaway is basically a holding company for his investments. Major holdings include Coca-Cola, American Express, and GilletteBetter boycott these....

Looks like Ahhhnold is attempting to try and please everyone all the time. Psssssst, Ahhhnold, don't you know that can't happen?
If he's got core beliefs on how to turn that f*cked up state around, fine. He needs to articulate them. Otherwise, here's a news flash Ahhhnold, everyone's sick of political games and double talk. Buck up and ACT like a Republican, or get the hell outta this race!!!!!!!

And today, he hired George Schultz, a Catholic.
Donohue should stay quiet, until Arnold fleshes out his campaign staff.

I received a telephone call today from Aunold's campaign office. They were looking for a Teleprompter. They need one for September 17. If you or any of the other FReepers know where they can pick one up they would appreciate it if you would call them ASAP. ;-)

Arnold has calls no one foe
Who they can help him win
Winning is the only thing
Failure is not an option
In his body building competition days he was ruthless
I suspect he still is
And at least if he promises something out loud and cant deliver...he will be considered to be a failure and a liar
And that is not an option for him either

I'm told Arnold is a Mass-on-Sunday-and-Holy-Days Catholic---which beats a lot of Catholics I know. He is on record as opposing partial birth abortion. I know that doesn't go far enough as far as the Church position on abortion goes (or mine goes), but it's better than a lot of so-called "pro-choice" people.
Besides, Schwarzenegger didn't take on Buffet to advise him on abortion policy, but on fiscal policy. Buffet's position on abortion should make as much difference in this campaign as Gustav Schwarzenegger's Nazi Party membership.

Got that right. Arnold, according to his financial
statement, gave a million $s+, in 2000 and 2001 to
the Catholic Church.

Well I am sure that all those dead babies feel much better now that they know that Aunold may be selective as to which ones are murdered...hold that thought while I throw up! What a bunch of apologists, excusers and naysayers...FYI Since you wanted to pull the Catholic Church into this debate let me wake you up to the fact that after thirty years and TENS OF MILLIONS OF BABIES HAVE BEEN SLAUGHTERED THE CATHOLIC CHURCH HAS FINALLY WOKEN UP AND DEMANDED THAT THOSE WHO "CLAIM" TO BE "CATHOLIC" POLITICIANS EITHER START BEING PRO-LIFE OR ELSE!!!
