Mayor Bloomberg just announced on live TV that the city would put the addresses of city blackout shelters "up on the website". In a city that has no power. That'll help!

Well, you just read your computer screens by flashlight. Back in the Olden Days they had to do it by kerosene lantern.

Well if there were absolutely no power then that would be useless.... but there are battery operated pcs and many of the larger facilities have their own backup generation so they have power.... such as hospitals, major bldgs, schools, municipal services, etc..... So the word could get out to at least some....

Earlier it was reported on CNN Headline News that Bloomberg's biggest worry was the people now forced to walk instead of ride having heat stroke.
I guess he's clueless as to what happens in NYC during a blackout after the sun goes down.

I suppose it is possible to surf: Wi-Fi on a notebook (or even regular dial up on a landline using a notebook), but seems unlikely to be used by many.
One communications problem NYC is experiencing is interesting: cell phones don't work. Landlines carry their own power, and phone central offices have huge (hugh?) batteries and generators (that's why phones typically still work in power outages). Cell towers typically don't have their own power source.

Albuquerque is ok ..how about east Texas? It's okay in Alaska so far, but sometimes it is hard to tell if the power is out anyway.

We have Judge Roy Moore and power in Alabama. Maybe Judge Moore is right. Yall come.

Yall come. A couple million of us may stop buy to prevent the federalies from putting a hurt on Judge Roy and the 10 commandments.
