[history]
Embattled California Gov. Gray Davis yesterday characterized the Oct. 7 special election that might boot him from office as "an insult," yet a new poll shows that the percentage of voters who want him recalled is rising.
"I don't like this, but I am trying to suppress those negative feelings and channel my energies into doing something positive for the people I work for, the people of this great state," Mr. Davis told NBC's "Today" show.

Gray Davis, meet Charles Taylor,
former leader of Liberia. He, too, had a corrupt and ineffective regime. The people eventually forced him to flee.
Gray Davis, you are the weakest link. Good bye.

It's still a long way to October 7. Davis is going to fight hard. But I think once he realizes, if it holds up, that he's toast, he will resign before the election and make the whole point moot.
He has nothing to lose, he's already the butt of the jokes and considered the most worthless government official in the land (unless you are a moron Democrat).
There is NO WAY the Democrats are going to let Arnold become governor. Fortunately, this will just insure their doom later. Arnold then would immediately announce against Boxer in 2004 (or he should) or go on a 3 year offensive to win in 2006 for governor which I doubt.

Well, at least Charles Taylor was given asylum. I doubt any country in the world will stoop to give Gray Davis asylum ;-)

Let's see. The voters signed the recall petitions and initiated this election. On October 7th, the voters will decide whether or not to keep Davis or dump him. How is this whole thing an insult to the voters?
The arrogance of this little tinhorn dictator is astounding.
