[history]
Unabomber Ted Kaczynski has asked the U.S. government to return his personal papers and other materials, including a bomb confiscated by the FBI seven years ago. In papers filed at federal court in Sacramento, Kaczynski asked that the government ship the materials to a University of Michigan archive that already contains more than 15,000 of his papers.

Small point, but the term coined by the FBI is "unabomer."

And way to go, Bro !!
In September 1995, the Washington Post and the New York Times published his 35,000-word anti-technology manifesto at the government's request. The phraseology was immediately recognized by his sister-in-law, Linda Patrik. Weeks later, her husband David Kaczynski went to authorities with his suspicions, convinced that his brother had written the tract.

I have no problem with him getting his bomb back, as long as the fuse is lit.

I think I heard that he tossed his hat in the ring for California governor. Al Gore suggested it.
That's what I heard, anyway.

I think I heard that he tossed his hat in the ring for California governor. Al Gore suggested it. I'd believe it. They're on the same page environmentally. Plus you know Al invented the pipe bomb, which Ted got a lot of use out of and running for governor would be the least he could do to pay him back.

Think of the postage he's saving by having the government ship his bombs for him.

Plus you know Al invented the pipe bomb Dang, I'm sorry to hear that. I probably owe him some royalties from
way back in the early 80's.. but then I never paid him anything for
that "internet" thing he invented, either, and I still use that today!
Seriously, if this dude thinks his pipe bomb needs to be in an archive,
he has either a too high opinion of himself or a too low opinion
of what constitutes effective ordnance.
