"Barbra Streisand's fanatical and hateful rantings about George W. Bush make about as much sense as Michael Jackson hanging a baby over a railing,"

Well actually it does make sense, if your psychotic.

He refered to the Hollywood liberals as "Mug-wumps", which is a term from Burroughs book, "Naked Lunch" - refering to the preditory / death-style freaks otherwise known as "homosexuals".

Mugwumps is possibly a little better known from this definition:

mugwumps , slang term in U.S. political history for the Republicans who in 1884 deserted their party nominee, James G. Blaine, to vote for the Democratic nominee, Grover Cleveland.

Mr. Bob Dunn (Dartford): Listening to the hon. Member for Bath (Mr. Foster), I was reminded of the political faction that existed in America towards the end of the 19th century. They were called "mug wumps" because they faced two directions at once: they sat on the fence with their mug on one side and their wump on the other.

No need for that. I just knew a bit of trivia and wanted to shine its light on Charlie's words. Wouldn't want people to think he's a homophobe now would we? ;^)

CD was being pretty nice calling them Mugwumps. Mugwumps betrayed their party not their country.

I like Charlie but he would be much more convincing to me if he had come to grips with his own liberal past and explain why he made the journey to the right. A lot of us, in one way or another, share that story.
