Artifacts Returned to Baghdad Museum (CBS News Radio Report).
CBS News Radio | Me

(I am paraphrasing from what I heard on the radio). According to a news radio report on CBS minutes ago, all the artifacts thought to have been stolen from the Baghdad museum have been recovered. Seems the museum’s curator, a woman, took all the pieces and artifacts prior to the start of the war and hid them for safe keeping. Even when everyone was screaming bloody murder when the museum looked like it had been cleaned out, she states she made a “promise on the Koran” not to tell anyone until it was totally safe to return the items

Good...more egg on the face of the liberals who thought it was so terrible that these articles had been "stolen"; the same people who blindly turned their heads while Hussien was slaughtering thousands of innocents.

That Clinton appointee who resigned over this issue several months ago must feel reeel good today!!

Artifacts Returned to Baghdad Museum (CBS News Radio Report).

I imagine there won't be as much TV coverage of the recovery as there was for the disappearance.

Well the troops are guilty of not saving the museum furniture and we were mostly knuckledraggers when we thought our troops lives were more valuable than artifacts./s..I just didn't "Feeel" it enough. The outraged ones never apologize. This isn't the first discovery that the museum staff misled(lied) to the press and everyone.

So that's what it is... Bill and Hillary are protecting all the valuable pieces that were "looted" from the White House.

(Sigh) That's a relief.

A bit old - but most of the museum pieces were in fact hidden UNDER the museum and HAD BEEN there for several years!

What had been on display were fakes since they expected a conflict and the resulting plunder.

This news came out within ONE WEEK of the initial reports - you have to read ALL the headlines & articles on FREEREPUBLIC to keep up with this! ((It does help being a speed-reader with almost photographic memory!))

My problem is I don't pay attention that much to WHERE I read something - only to the information contained.

Presumbly she now feels that it's totally safe.

Or she found the items were too hot to market.

There are 33 major pieces and 2,200 pieces of less significance still missing, according to Pietro Cordone. I'm not sure what you heard, but what you posted is incorrect.

We'll never hear any more about this. This issue will just quietly go away, never to be corrected by the libs. The perception will always be that the US was responsible for destroying priceless antiquities. period.

Or she found the items were too hot to market.

My thought too. I suspect some insiders were going to get rich over this, but the media hyped the story so much the market dried up.

As the poster said, the news TODAY is that nothing more is missing. The curator revealed that she had hidden all the rest of the missing stuff and swore on the Koran not to reveal it until it was safe.

Pietro is a little behind the times.

Yeah, but it is still the President's fault, because all of those antiquities COULD have been looted! [/sarcasm]
