Sorry, Dean is already a has-been. He's just in the middle of his 15 minutes of fame at the moment. He isn't now, and never will be, a serious challenge to President Bush; I suspect that the Dems will use him as an endorcer of whatever loser they pick, to add antiwar and antiBush credibility.

I don't think Dean knows that, however...

I keep getting the two mixed up. Which one is running for President? Is it Howard Dean or Howard the Duck? So many candidates, so much to remember.

Nope. I think he will be the nominee. The dems have always been the "fringe" party. They appeal to the lunatic left and this is their man. It will be McGovern/Mondale/Dukakis redux.

All Bush has to do is pick out some really bad clips of Dean campaigning and run them on TV. It shouldn't be too difficult. Dean might carry a couple of states, maybe none at all.
