GAY men and lesbians usually prefer to socialize in bars and nightspots that cater to one group or the other. But Rosie O'Donnell thinks they'll like vacationing together - at least those gays and lesbians who have children. Rosie and her partner, Kelli O'Donnell, have launched R Family Vacations with travel entrepreneur Gregg Kaminsky, who says, "We're creating vacations where gays and lesbians can bring their kids, their friends and their parents." The first trip, a cruise on the Norwegian Dawn, leaves New York July 11, 2004 for Key West and the Bahamas. "This is the first cruise that will cater to both gays and lesbians," Kaminsky said. Ski trips and safaris are in the works.

In a related story, R Family Vacations is looking to hire a homosexual to serve as the ship's captain on these cruises. For reasons that Rosie O'Donnell would not disclose, they would prefer to hire a retired Navy rear admiral.

Guess it will be nice to have O'Donnell on board for ballast. Otherwise that ship might just float away.

There was a study not long ago, posted on FR I think, that showed the psychological differences between lesbians and male homosexuals. They aren't that compatible, that is why they go to different bars. It seems that homo men want to be what homo women are escaping and vice versa. Can you imagine straight parents amongst all those disoriented people? I see yet another failed Rosie project.

That's just great. Take these poor kids who are stuck living with perverts and drag them along on vacations with like-minded weirdos. Just how in the world did people like Rose get to adopt (or, shall we say "buy") orphans? If I'm not mistaken, there are thousands of heterosexual married couples trying to adopt kids (I know of two such couples) who are told there are NO kids available. How do the homosexual couples get them so easily? Are we all going nuts?

This is a rip. The reason homos and lesbians take different vacations is for a reason - they are sex jogs. Rosie seems to think they need a "family" oriented vacation.

She is either tapping a niche in the market, or is living in a dream world. I vote the latter. I'd like to monitor the success of this venture.

I don't get this whole gay thing. I saw wedding pics of a lesbian wedding. One gal was dressed in a mans tuxedo. The other a skinny gal with no boobs dressed in a wedding gown.The wedding cake was in a form of a big breasted woman only wearing a thong. If womwn hate men ...why dress like them. If women are exploited in the lesbian eye...why have a cake showing a big breasted woman in a thong. I'm trying too figure out which way the fruity tooties want it.
