The laws change so quickly, it's difficult to write an article with such across the board comments. Alaska doesn't require anyone to buy a permit but I don't know what their laws are in entering public buildings. Texas changed their laws last month but I don't think I would try to enter a council meeting unless I had a copy of the current laws in my pocket.

Yet, many other city halls across the country take a radically different approach. In two neighboring states, Pennsylvania and Vermont, as well as states across the nation from Virginia to Washington, concealed handgun permit holders are allowed to take their guns with them when they attend city council meetings. I was going to mention Texas (only as of 9/1/03, NOT YET!!!), but Shooter beat me to it.
