Khodorkovsky and 13 other oligarchs are attempting to take down Putin by funding Zuganov--the head of the Communist Party.

They aren't capitalists. "Robber Baron" is often used to describe them but it is a misnomer. They have built nothing. What they did was extort, steal and bribe--in collusion with criminals such as Marc Rich. They are funding the communist party as well as a middle class party in order to split the vote and prevent any moves against them.

Harvard and the Clinton adminstration aided and abetted the looting of Russia. It will be interesting to see how this all turns out.

I never expected Putin to turn on them. Perhaps Bush and Putin discussed things at the Texas ranch they did not make public.

STATEMENT OF RICHARD L. PALMER, PRESIDENT OF CACHET INTERNATIONAL, INC. ON THE INFILTRATION OF THE WESTERN FINANCIAL SYSTEM BY ELEMENTS OF RUSSIAN ORGANIZED CRIME BEFORE THE HOUSE COMMITTEE ON BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES ON SEPTEMBER 21, 1999

Anne Williamson Rape of Russia and CONTAGION: THE BETRAYAL OF LIBERTY; RUSSIA AND THE UNITED STATES IN THE 1990s said the looting of Russia and the laundering of IMF loans to Russia profited the Clintons, Rubin, Summers, the Harvard econ faculty and a half dozen Russian "reformers".

The Russian Journal cited the chief prosecutor of Geneva as having said Edmond Safra billionaire owner of Republic Bank was killed (December 3, 1999) for having cooperated with the FBI in the laundering of $4.8 billion in IMF loans to Russia.

The laundering scandal involving Bank of New York brought Natasha Kagalovsky before the court. She was defended by Stanley Arkin who was Safra's attorney.

Natasha was married to Konstantin Kagalovsky who had headed Menatep.

The nice device of the Clinton lice was thrown off the table by the shocking election of George Bush.

The morning of his innauguration, Pavel Borodin was arrested en route to the affair, jailed in New York, extradited to Switzerland, and bailed by Putin for three million.

[Borodin received Mabetex kickbacks through Banco del Gottardo which maintains a branch in Safra's six-floor building in Monte Carlo.]

Putin's actions against this crowd has been met with their squeals that it's "all political".

Apparently they have met someone they cannot buy.

If Marc Rich is discomfited so much the better.

As I understand it, Denise's father Eisenberg made sure she married Marc, bankrolled Marc.

Often wondered if there was a relationship between that Eisenberg and Shaul Eisenberg who established the Israel-China arms trade in 1980 and died in Beijing of a heart attack in 1997.

Clinton pardoned Marc Rich.

But the wheel has turned.

Thanks Phil. After 2001, I filed this away in my "Well they got away with it" file and have been trying to remember all the pieces for a few days now.

So you find this unexpected too? I have seen very little about it in the US media.

We can always count on The New York Times!
Young, Russian, and Rich for Now at Least
New York Times - 4 hours ago
... the government occasionally threatens to
take the wealth away, as
evidenced by the
Kremlin's recent attack on
Russia's richest man, Mikhail B. Khodorkovsky. ...
Misha is now a victim. Under attack! They want to take away away little Misha's money. And he is so young. Handsome too no doubt. Wonder what favors he has done the Sulzberger family. Robert Friedman1 might know but he is dead.

Khodorkovsky hired Kissinger to lobby the State Department for help. This writer believes that was a huge mistake:

When oligarchs are beaten at Go

The game is heating up. Prime Minister Kasyanov tried to downplay the matter by saying the investigation would be resolved soon. That so enraged prosecutors they, yesterday, slapped some more charges on Platon Lebedev.Kasyanov rose to power with Yeltsin and the oligarchs. Putin has the siloviki-- associates from his KGB days.

Your Palmer link reveals a lot. Russian Organized Crime(ROC)has supplanted the state in Russia. ROC consists of the communist nomenklatura and the mafiya.

Thanks to noncoverage by the NY Times and others, this is virtually unknown in the US.

Khodorkovsky is part of Soros's team to meddle in everyone's life and create a new society. In fact, he might even lead it. His assets are greater.

I see that Soros conveniently announced he has accomplished his good deeds in Russia and is pulling out.

Soros' second announcement is that he will now devote his efforts to the United States because he says the Bush Administration is abusing its power.

It's strange how little the New York Times reports about their famous sons and citizens.

Soros lives in the NYC area but you would never know it. Dean, the do nothing on terrorism, was born and raised in New York. You would think New Yorkers would appreciate Bush's efforts to make people safe from terrorism.

This summarizes the reality when some so called idiots mouth their mantra, "There is no Difference between GW and a demonic Rat like the Goron!"

The nice device of the Clinton lice was thrown off the table by the shocking election of George Bush.

The morning of his innauguration, Pavel Borodin was arrested en route to the affair, jailed in New York, extradited to Switzerland, and bailed by Putin for three million.

More and more I wonder if the China money wasn't a red herring. Billions from Russia were laundered in NYC.

You bring up a good point.

The Clintoons may have gotten along with the ChiComs at that time. However, I believe that relations between the thugs in charge of the new Russia and the ChiComs was not all that good.

You posted an interesting question: "More and more I wonder if the China money wasn't a red herring. Billions from Russia were laundered in NYC."
