Elderly Fla. Woman Killed When Own Car Runs Over Her
POSTED: 7:36 p.m. EDT July 27, 2003 UPDATED: 7:39 p.m. EDT July 27, 2003
DAVIE, Fla. -- An 86-year-old woman was killed when she was washing her car and it ran over her, police said Sunday.
Evelynne Eliasson-Rabus, of Davie, thought she had put the car in park Saturday night as she was washing her car in her driveway, police said. But when she walked behind the car, it rolled backward and she was caught under its tires.
A couple driving past saw the trapped woman and tried to help, but they were unable to rescue her, police said.
Neighbors and relatives described Eliasson-Rabus as very independent and active, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported. She is survived by two daughters and two granddaughters.
Davie is a southwest suburb of Fort Lauderdale.

Especially in this heat. I have work to do in my yard, but won't go out there until the sun is either down, or nearly down. It's hot as heck down here right now.

Miami, FL, July 29, 2003 (IP)... The law firm of Greedy, Malicious, and Vain has announced a $ 200 million suit against Ford Motor Company for the death of 86-year-old Evelynne Eliasson-Rabus, of Davie, FL. The firm is claiming that Ford was negligent in knowlingly selling one of its vehicles to a woman who mistook it for her golden retriever, Butchie, and was subsequently run over by her own car while she was "washing her dog"...breaking...

Was it a one of those dangerous, mean-tempered SUVs?
