DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (DNN) -- Arabic-language TV network Al Arabiya aired an audiotape Wednesday, purportedly from the two prematurely declared dead sons of Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein urging Iraqis to resist U.S. forces and to continue to follow their orders.
Al Arabiya said the tape was recorded on July 23 -- one day after U.S. forces had thought they had killed the two sons, Uday and Qusay Hussein, in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
The station said it received the tape Wednesday morning.
DNN cannot confirm when the tape was recorded or if it is the voice of Oday and Qusay Hussein, but admits it will probably be good enough for most Iraqis and many in the U.S. and world news media.
On the tape, the speakers urge Iraqis to "raise troops in resistance" and fight against the "invading forces."
They also said the war has not ended against the United States, Britain, and Norway.
Iraq's former ambassador to the United Nations, Mohammad Al-Douri, told Al Arabiya he was sure it was Saddam's sons voices, adding, I always felt bad for those two, especially the handicapped one, that they never really got a chance to get out much and enjoy the country, given all their responsibilities running the Mukahabarat and the Fedayeen Saddam.
Earlier today, Al Arabiya aired another Saddam tape that U.S. experts believe was the voice of the former Iraqi leader, and had been taped recently. (Full story)

Believe this is called "myth making". Preying on the ignorance of folks who just can't--or won't--believe these two butchers are dead.

Islam must be destroyed, the Islamic countries turned to rubble and scorched earth, and the ground salted.

The link fails. No http://www.democraticnewsnetwork.com. Problem with the link or is it on my end? Tried it on two different dialup isp's. Been having trouble with 'new posts to you' and very slow loading on freerepublic as well, so it may be my browser or something.
Anyone?

whaddayahafta do to get a LOL around here, sheesh.Sorry, but a link usually indicates to me that the article has a legitimate source. Didn't realize it was a joke. Mostly because it wouldn't surprise me at all if it were a legit article, the way things seem to go in the Mideast. Sarcasm isn't readily distinguishable when it comes to that part of the world, you now. :0)

"I always felt bad for those two, especially the handicapped one, that they never really got a chance to get out much and enjoy the country, given all their responsibilities running the Mukahabarat and the Fedayeen Saddam," said Mohammad al Douri, just in case the two brothers MIGHT still be alive.

y'know, if it is that easy to make a reasonably believable farce on-line, it shows how folks' mindsets are ready to swallow anything. They have been faking audio since the forties, and computers make it a junior-highschool level prank. It's not Rich Little anymore, but software that could make Osama, Saddam, or even JFK and Elvis read todays headline news. I bet our guys have done it before, to mess with the minds of the badguys. I really DO think Osama is bacteria-droppings and am about 50/50 sure about Saddam. But the Baathtards who had 30 years of practicing psychological torture, dishonesty, and propaganda that mislead nearly all the countries at the onset of the twentyfirst century excell at controlling the truth from evil's point of view. It's been proven that they had moles in at Al Jazz and I'm sure a few others. Money goes a long way in the news business, especially when the useful fools are on your side.

Yeah. The tape says, "I....[ugh]!"They're dead, Jim.
HMB/Bizarre PING....
If you want on or off this list, FReepmail me!
FYI: This has fast outgrown it's original "charter" and become a home for the truly bizarre. An alternative saying/phrasiology is being sought (and suggestions are very welcome!). Also, like it's "cousin list" the B/C list, it has become a high-volume list.
I'm leaning toward "Just damn," on the suggestion of a fair number of folks. I won't make a decision until Sunday.

Are you sure this is this a joke? Part of the transcript is as follows:
Voice 1: Qusay, we need to help all Americans to have access to needed health care and guaranteed pensions in their old age.
Voice 2: And a living wage for all workers, Uday.
Voice 1: We need more fairness in our country, and to eliminate the scourge of the new racists, Hillary...er, Qusay.
Voice 2: And we need to get out of Iraq because President Bush lied to us about uranium and killed 150 American soldiers....
