I think the Church should be more concerned about violence in the womb rather than worrying about law abiding citizens owning guns and protecting themselves against intruders

Around these parts, when the priest gives a sermon against those evil guns, the good ole boys throw a handful of spent brass in the plate instead of cash.

That's the right idea! To be a member of any church in any denomination is to suffer occasionally a priest or minister who uses the pulpit as a bully pulpit from which to expound his own (usually asinine) purely political views. I don't get angry anymore; I just throw in the collection basket a note that reads, "I'll start giving money when you stop talking politics and start talking religion".
