I'm OK you're OK. Yadda yadda. Medals for everyone! You're a special unique individual, just like everyone else. Blah, blah, blah, gobbledeegook. Black berets to make us ALL feel special, civilians, too! Let's all feel special! Blah blah. General stars for every service man; three stars for each woman! Can't we all just get along? PC is good. Criticism is bad. Nothing special, nothing controversial or disagreeable in this post. Nothin to pull about or get upset over. Everyone is beautiful, in his or her or their transgenderal own waaaaay! Let's all just feel wonderful and group hugs all around. Happy happy joy joy!

Women in the military must have lower standards for being awarded medals as well as the lower physical fitness standards.

Many of you here on this forum know nothing about medals and the US Army. First, there are two awards of the Bronze Star Medal. One for Valor which has a V device on it and the other award for meritorious serve in a combat area.
Its my belief PFC Lynch is well deserving of the meritorious award of the BSM, undoubtedly well deserving of both the PH anf POW awards.
Lets lighten up on this brave young soldier and not belittle her of awards that she is well deserving of.

Medals for everyone! Actually that unit was fairly unique it that it was under sustained attack, eventually outnumber and outgunned. That didn't happen very often in the campaign. So that unit faced a threat few others had to deal with in the campaign. The result was the loss of half the unit -- that's pretty high casualties in any war.
In such an onslaught, some will get killed or injured sooner than others. So? No medals for them because they got killed too soon?
Everybody in that unit earned a special medal because they came under a special and exceedingly dangerous situation in which they continued to fight to the best of their ability.

You forgot to mention my "favorite" slogan: "Be an Army of One" (and die alone behind enemy lines)......
