>>>>>>>>>>>This time the implications are far more damaging for the White House, which stands accused of politicising and contaminating its own source of intelligence<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Where were those truth seekers when Clinton used lies to justify attack on Yugoslavia and kill 1500 civilians? All this in order to support AL Qaeda allies in Kosovo.

This from the Guardian, the paper which politicized its antiwar stance by going into a fit of lies and hysterics over making captured al Qaeda wear ear muffs on an airplane flight to Gitmo- and horror of horrors, making them eat Froot Loops , as well as toting one of them around the detention area on a two-wheeled garden cart because it was quicker than making him hobble around in shackles.

Ping to an article you may have missed; I notice this is the only article I've ever seen in this Plame/Wilson saga where the VIPS-type analysts are whining that even Mossad was 'bypassed' by OSP. But then maybe that's Kwiatkowski talking:

...The OSP was an open and largely unfiltered conduit to the White House not only for the Iraqi opposition. It also forged close ties to a parallel, ad hoc intelligence operation inside Ariel Sharon's office in Israel specifically to bypass Mossad and provide the Bush administration with more alarmist reports on Saddam's Iraq than Mossad was prepared to authorise....

I notice Greg Thielmann is a source in the above article- before his untimely resignation/dismissal I guess it was geting obvious he wanted to play the mole role:

In a subsequent interview, Bolton acknowledged that he had changed the procedures for handling intelligence, in an effort to extend the scope of the classified materials available to his office. “I found that there was lots of stuff that I wasn’t getting and that the INR analysts weren’t including,” he told me. “I didn’t want it filtered. I wanted to see everything—to be fully informed. If that puts someone’s nose out of joint, sorry about that.”

Bolton told me that he wanted to reach out to the intelligence community but that Thielmann had “invited himself” to his daily staff meetings. “This was my meeting with the four assistant secretaries who report to me, in preparation for the Secretary’s 8:30 a.m. staff meeting,” Bolton said. “This was within my family of bureaus. There was no place for INR or anyone else—the Human Resources Bureau or the Office of Foreign Buildings.” -- From a Seymour Hersh article
