Ozzy Osbourne's wife hailed him as a hero after he wrestled a coyote to save the family's favourite dog.

The rocker tackled the predator when it got into the garden of their Beverly Hills mansion and attacked Pipi, Sharon Osbourne's beloved Pomeranian.

"Ozzy heard the screams and fought and got Pip out of the coyote's mouth," she told American magazine US Weekly.

The dog made a full recovery following surgery.

But the former Black Sabbath frontman was unable to rescue the family's black chihuahua, Lulu, which was killed by coyotes.

"It's so heartbreaking," Sharon said, adding that they have now thrown a poisoned chicken over the garden fence in an attempt to kill the prairie wolves.

I still love Ozzy, no matter how messed up he is. His concert was still fun. He's psycho, but the concert was fun. I think having two children like Kelly and Jack can make you go loco! Spoiled brats. If I ever used the "f" word around my parents I would get nasty SOAP in my mouth!

Smart move Ozzy!! Ozzy having already undergone rabies treatment/prophylaxis made the move to get the coyote's prey. Ozzy was the least risk of the family for rabies. Ozzy has got to be a lot smarter than he acts and looks.

Over the years I got to be quite a connossieur of soap. Though my personal preference was for Lux, I found that Palmolive had a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor -- heavy, but with a touch of mellow smoothness. Life Buoy, on the other hand... YECCHH!

Totally not funny----My dog and I were chased a year ago by a coyote. We were on a sidewalk along a very busy street when a coyote attacked from behind us as we were walking. I screamed and raised my arms. Called animal control-they weren't interested- called fish and Game-they sent out the USDA- who sent Mama coyote and her brood to the happy hunting grounds in the sky.

I would as well, and I know my 7" high mouth wityh legs would too. She has no idea she's a small dog.

My posting this was not a comment on Ozzy saving his animals, I considered it odd how a decade or two ago he killed helpless animals and now he's like the rest of us... He, like all of us, has grown.
